"The hotel in it self is a bit run down. It needs a bit of a do-up and I think they're at it. That said, they really made sure people were enjoying themselves and that they had fun. I was there solo but time went so quick, so much to do!"

"The hotel is beautiful, but it could definitely benefit from more maintenance and attention to detail. Our shower drain was constantly clogged, and the bathroom lighting was poor, which made shaving difficult. The room door was sometimes hard to open, and the terrace door was partially unhinged. The entertainment was underwhelming, and the only music played throughout the resort was bachata and merengue all day, everywhere on the property. In addition, some staff members were not particularly friendly or welcoming. The beach itself is beautiful, but the water is murky due to the nearby river, making it impossible to see underwater. Unfortunately, the area also seemed to have a large number of jellyfish—I was stung twice during my stay—which made the beach experience less enjoyable. On a positive note, the buffet offered a wide variety of food, and most of it was very good. I would recommend sticking to the buffet and skipping the specialty restaurants, which did not live up to the same standard. Overall, the property has great potential thanks to its beautiful setting, but several maintenance issues and service shortcomings affected our experience."
