Staff was absolutely amazing! We arrived late and front office had restaurant stay open to serve us after a long day of travel. The staff knew us by name and always greeted us with smiles and were genuinely interested in how our days adventure were. Highly recommend this resort

We had a 12/10 experience!! The grounds are absolutely incredible of this resort. The accommodations are gorgeous (we stayed in a room with a small plunge pool and would highly recommend). The staff are so attentive and lovely - particularly Florita as our server encouraging us to try new foods ... All grown on site if you can believe it!! We did a few tours with Mystic River as well and had two amazing experiences with Leslie. His passion for bird watching was contagious! The food ... Incredible. Every meal was delicious. You must visit the onsite garden - I couldn't believe my eyes the variety of fruit and vegetables they were growing. I'm not sure I can say enough amazing things about this place. Coffee in the most beautiful place watching toucans fly tree to tree?? A dream. I will definitely be back - book immediately!

Mystic River Resort is a beautiful property, with awesome accommodations and staff. What the owners have thoughtfully built in the jungle is really impressive. If we're back in the area, we'll stay here again.

The resort itself is located about 30min away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio and its situated right along the Macal River which made for perfect water sounds in the mornings and at night. You’ll hear birds chirping, and it’s just so peaceful. The staff can organize rides for you to go anywhere you like, and the food at the restaurant is amazing!

The grounds are beautiful, service was really nice. However, the resort should come with warning, there is no air conditioning or dehumidifier in the room therefore you are sleeping on the wet mattress under wet cover wearing wet sleepwear. It would also be nice to have coffee maker in the room as some of us are early birds and don't want to wait until 6 am.

The staff and service was impeccable and is the highlight of the experience here. The grounds are beautiful We were here during slow season so not much going on. The tour was very good. The only reason for the four stars was we were disappointed in the breakfast and lunch. Dinners were better but I think the main issue was we were the only people there.

The people of Belize are wonderful. Everyone we met went out of their way to make our stay amazing. The food was great at the restaurant and the drinks at the bar perfect. Our room overlooked the river and our dip pool was woderful after long days at the Mayan ruins. We will go back in the future.

Staff really made the whole difference for this experience. Everyone was so kind and helpful and went out of their way to make my time in Cayo the best possible. When an injury made my original plans impossible, they were ready with suggestions tor excursions and tours. I can’t wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Mystic River! It's a beautiful resort! The staff are all so amazing! They are so kind and helpful! The food was delicious and the room was comfortable and so nice. My husband and I have nothing but raves for this resort! You will not be disappointed! The tour guides are super knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a great experience.

A jungle oasis

If I could give 6 stars I would. From the moment we arrived and even before our arrival the staff was proactive and attentive. It was my husbands birthday and they decorated the room and had a table in the restaurant decorated for us with a cake. My mother in law stayed with us and they converted the living room sofa to a bed. The food was great with cheese made on property abd vegetables from their own garden. You truly feel like you are staying in a jungle oasis. We will definitely be back.

My family just had a fantastic trip to Mystic River Resort. We enjoyed the property, the canoes, hiking trails, excursions and the pool. The property is well-maintained and the service is excellent. Every one was so helpful and nice. We will be back!

The property is a rough drive to get to after the highway. Once there it was everything we had hoped for and more. Very organized and well thought out. Quiet and peaceful. Never left wanting anything day or night.

The relaxing sounds of the jungle were interrupted by the whining cries of the children next door. Due to the open air concept we could hear every whimper and wail. Other than those jolts back to reality our visit was heavenly and relaxing. We loved seeing the fruit trees and garden and enjoyed a float down the river in the provided kayaks. How delightful to wake up to coffee outside our room everyday.

The property was well kept and serene. The rooms were extremely clean and decorated with fresh flowers upon arrival (very nice touch). The body scrub and soaps provided gave a spa-like feeling to the experience. The splash pool with fountain feature was very nice to enjoy on the warm afternoons. Being on the deck overlooking the river and wildlife from water with a cocktail was a daily ritual while we were there. Only downside is the lack of air-conditioning, which did not bother us the first 2 nights, but our final night there was no breeze to speak of, it was hot and stagnant in our room which made it difficult to get a good night's rest. In addition, I think every room should be provided a small cooler for ice. The staff at the bar was kind enough to offer one up to us our first day, which we had refilled whenever we went there or when we went to the restaurant. However, if that would have not been offered up to us day 1 by the kind bartender, we would have had to run back and forth from our cabin several times a day.

Mystic River is truly a gem. They treat each guest as family, and because of the small size, you can really get to know the staff. The guides for the excursions were fabulous - knowledgeable, safe, and friendly. The only thing to be aware of is the lack of A/C in the cabanas. Even with fans, it can be quite hot at night. But, we found it entirely worth it! It was a wonderful jungle adventure that my kids will remember forever.
