Pendry is known as a five star hotel. Its staff was always available for touring advice and securing transportation. The room was cleaned every day as requested with lovely bathroom amenities. The pool area was comfortable with clean lounges and umbrellas. Waiters were available for light fare and drinks. Our room however, did not have a seating area. Only one desk chair.which only allowed for seating on the bed. We were there for a week and lived out of our suitcases as there was no place to unpack other than a small closet. It is for this reason that an okay score was given.

The hotel is nicely situated in the gaslamp district of San Diego, near the baseball stadium, Seaport Village, the convention center, and the Rady Shell amphitheater. It has an excellent fitness center and a pretty decent pool on the third floor. The Hotel restaurant is good for breakfast, and reasonably priced. While there are a few things I might change, overall we thought this was a very good hotel and a great choice for San Diego.

Great location, incredible staff. The hallways are a bit dated and shabby but the rooms very clean and modern. The pool area is lovely but get there early if you want a chair near the pool. Restaurant and bar area is very nice.

The so called Amenity fee is supposed to include free coffee, but they limit it from 5 - 8 am and if it runs out before 8 am, they don't refill it. This felt like a bait and switch. Otherwise, the room was great and the pool was nice. The gym was excellent. We chose not to eat at the restaurants due to the price gauging, but found many other great places to spend our money while downtown. I wouldn't recommend this hotel because it felt like they were trying to nickel and dime the guest, who already paid a top end price to stay.

I am so glad that I got to spend time here this weekend. The hotel is calming and immaculate. The gym is one of the nicer facilities I have experienced at a hotel as well (along with the pool and spa). The text feature worked well to get an extra bathrobe and towels the first night, and there are thoughtful touches like chocolates and a Bluetooth speaker in the room. There is also an espresso machine in each room. I would love to keep coming here for any future trips to SD.
