Ocean Beach's newest homes, designed by local designer/developer Pedro Tavares sit only a block from the sand. This new home features a panoramic roof deck with ocean and bay views, high ceilings with large windows for plenty of natural light, quality bedding, and new appliances in a fully equipped kitchen. It's only one block from the beach, and easy walking distance to countless restaurants and tasting rooms.

Ladder and stairs — The home is three stories and requires use of stairs. The lofts are accessible by an indoor ladder and is not recommended for young children.

Parking — This unit parks up to 2 cars depending on size in tandem. One space is covered in a carport.

No Smoking - Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises. An additional cleaning fee of $100 may be charged for cigarette butts found on the property

No Parties - Parties without prior written permission are not welcome here. Please spare our environment. A $100 cleaning fee will be charged for any confetti found.

We stayed as a family of 2 adults and 4 young adult/teenage kids. Excellent central location to many fun activities. We could easily walk to the beach and had just a few minute drive to La Jolla, Coronado, etc. Kitchen had adequate equipment. We cooked frequently. Rooftop patio was a great place to drink morning coffee as long as the sound of the airplanes flying over head bothers you. It had a great view. There are lots of stairs/ ladders so it may not be a comfortable stay if you are elderly or out of shape. Washer/dryer was available. The dryer door was held closed by tape and would frequently open during a cycle which was the most annoying part of our stay. When we needed additional trash bags and reached out to Pedro, within 30 minutes he had trash bags delivered. Overall, will definitely reach out to stay here again if we are back in San Diego

Be aware that you are getting what you pay for a "heavily discounted" price. PROS - Cool rooftop - Unique architecture - Location near everything - Beds were comfortable but super bright at sunrise (didn't sleep in master bedroom) CONS - Overall in dire need of repair, maintenance, deep cleaning - Dust on the strings strung up for fall protection in the open-style bed nooks - Many light switches and outlets weren't working - Dryer door could not close properly without tape - Likely insect droppings on the 2nd floor couch coming from the stairs leading to the rooftop. What made it worse was the unalarmed host who tried to accuse us of sleeping on the couch and dirtying it. We pride ourselves in being clean and respectable travelers - Bath and cleaning products could be non-toxic, vegan and cruelty free for the animals and planet - Need more green building and sustainability measures like balcony solar

Overall, we had a good stay. Location is excellent. The house is small but the layout afforded the privacy. The Host is quick to respond. However, it was missing some of the items advertised and some things are just broken. Think the owner or host have not been there to check for a long time. Pro: near beach, street parking available in addition to the carport and driveway, modern looking, fun layout with ladders to loft, roof looked great though we did not use it since it rained, nice to have washer/dryer and dishwasher, responsive host. Con: only one kitchen towel, and 1 hanger in the entire house, 2nd floor balcony sliding door does not latch to fully close, not enough blankets, I had to go to a nearby motel to pick up blankets myself. We had 9 people and I would say it cannot house any more. The living room futon bed is not a place to sleep as it has zero privacy and is on the way of all traffic. The futon is also extremely uncomfortable to sit in. Lacked sitting space for 9 people. Fortunately I brought 3 folding chairs myself. 2nd floor restroom mirror has crack, outdoor shower is not fully private to use (needs the couple of extra pieces of wood that another reviewer said. Pots and pans are really old, We used my son's Christmas presents (pots, pans, and food containers). Dishes and utensils is barely enough for 9 people. I think if the owner/host just made a visit and take inventory on what needs fixed and replaced or replenished, it would make it a lot nicer.

We stayed with adult children for 3 nights. We were excited after a few nights of traveling and staying in hotels to be able to settle in and cook our meals. The good and not so good:Good:The host was great at communicating and the check in process was smooth and very easy. The host was great at fixing a broken faucet and bringing more towels.It is a very cool space! The roof top space is awesome. The location is great-a few minutes walk to the beach. Not so good:It needs a good DEEP cleaning and some basic maintenance. We wanted to settle in and be comfortable but it was just dirty enough that we didn’t. The floors were sticky, the doors and door jams by the door knob’s are dirty! The couches had coverings on them to hide the nasty cushions. They are dirty enough none of us wanted to use them as a pull out bed. You also couldn’t sit on them-you feel every spring and support-they desperately need to be replaced. There is a washer and dryer but they don’t really work. The dryer has tape residue from people trying to keep the door shut. Both are very dirty and need to be cleaned, fixed/ replaced. The sliding door in the kitchen doesn’t stay shut and you can’t lock it. The dish washer doesn’t work-we had to wash all our dishes. This place has a lot of potential with a little maintenance and cleaning.

This was such an interesting and fun house! The kids loved it. Our older joints not so much. Lol. The kitchen could use some more things to make it easier to cook. There were no hot pads and only two towels. I imagine most people who stay here don't cook though. Bathrooms had no washcloths. In general things could use some sprucing up. But the property manager was easy to get ahold of and very accommodating. The roof deck was amazing! I loved sitting up there and people watching. The beach was an easy walk and I loved seeing all the dogs on the dog beach. The main bed was too hard for my liking, but my daughter thought it was comfortable. The couch also seemed hard. But overall it was a neat experience. We loved the location.

Host communication was excellent. House was like staying in shoots and ladders. House is located right across the street from a Liquor store and we were woken up several times by drunken people. Couches were not very comfortable, felt springs and lumpy.

La maison n'est pas très entretenue. Beaucoup de choses sont cassés ou abimés (miroir, fenêtres, portes, murs). Le ménage n'est fait qu'en surface, le plancher est collant, les escaliers vers les mezzanines sont noirs de saletés et collants, il y a des toiles d'araignées un peu partout. Dans la cuisine, il manque BEAUCOUP de chose. Un seul verre à vin présent, uniquement des verres de plastique pour le reste. Aucun plat de cuisson pour le four, pas de plat à salade, aucun contenant de quelque sorte, pas de mitaine de four et j'en passe.

Room had bugs crawling across floor, there was a different sofa tan what was advertised and was filthy. Front door inside handle fell of when first entering unit, hand railing support broken. The sliding glass door would lock. The washer dryer had hair and scum in it. We had to clean for we couldn’t find a place to stay the first night and canceled the rest of the stay while we go charger over 400 dollars for cleaning and host fees.

Perfect location for the local vibe of OB. Walk everywhere easily, for more food and drink than you can consume. Rooftop view is unreal. Porch off the kitchen was our go to for hanging out. Lots of stairs and ladders, so that's a consideration if it applies to you. The property is in the nature of OB. Not the super-fancy, but definitely good value once you realize the scene you are in. We're all in our 60's and it suited us well.

Beach Vacation

Stayed here to spend some time at the beach. Great location, close to the beach and tons of food and drink options. The host was terrific. Overall 5 stars would stay again!
