We had a great stay at Alma San Diego Downtown! The location is perfect—right in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, and attractions. The hotel itself has a stylish, modern vibe and felt clean and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay, which really made a difference. Our room was comfortable, well-designed, and quiet, making it easy to relax after a long day out. For a place to rest your head, it had a little more personality than your average, and the staff were all friendly. For the price, though, I was a little underwhelmed. Awkward mix of lighting temperatures in the room, the bathroom had a barn door, front desk was jammed into a corner of a very loud lobby, and f&b was really disappointing. I was glad for the $20 dining credit that was part of the destination fee, but beware that room service is served “takeout style” — so that meant I paid $37 (incl fees, before the credit) for two mediocre fish tacos to be delivered in a plastic box with disposable cutlery. Barista coffee the next morning was so bad I almost returned it. Marriott’s got an opportunity to make a good hotel better; I hope they take it.

Room was clean staff was helping for anything you need. Only problem that I paid for king-size bed and I got Quinn but I complained and after that I got what I wanted.
