「Room was clean, basic, but had all that I needed. Bed was very comfortable but room was initially a little cool. Radiator was adjustable and it soon warmed up. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant menu was varied, food well prepared and nicely presented. Typically pub food. Breakfast freshly cooked to order with good choice of cereals available. Bar well supplied and good, friendly service.」

「Staff incredibly helpful from Manager to the cleaner- great breakfast」

「Cannot fault the Halfway House Pub. Stayed here for 4 nights..Friendly welcome shown our room by Mike. All staff friendly and helpful. Room was excellent spotless and uensuite was great. Breakfast was very good. Ate here twice in the evening and food was excellent. Great evening spent listening to the Sea Shanty choir. Dog friendly.. No car park but public car park £5 for 24 hours. Will definitely be staying again. Thanks to all staff at the Halfway House.」

「Great location, lovely welcoming staff, good room and an amazing breakfast, thank you.」

「The Blue Lion is ideally situated for a stop over when making a long journey to Cornwall. The room was well equipped and comfortable. There is some traffic noise from the road, but that did not spoil our one night stay. The staff were welcoming and the locals were friendly. The evening meal was excellent. I would stay here again if travelling in this area.」

「Very friendly, welcoming and helpful owners and staff. A great breakfast too」

「Quaint room and wonderful breakfast..lovely Landlord & Landlady」

「We booked a deluxe en-suite double room with (according to the website) a four-poster bed. This room was no longer available and we were assigned a room which was dark and grubby. We were also informed that there would be no food available ("don't do food anymore"), despite breakfast and evening meals being offered on the website. The staff were very apologetic and stated that there was new ownership and they couldn't access/manage the website. We expressed our dissatisfaction and requested that...

「Lovely people. Very friendly. It’s not the Ritz but you do get what you pay for, and as such, it’s excellent. We had a lovely time.」

「The room was fine (not in main pub building but in separate one) but the shower room was a bit cramped. Noise from the floor above was a problem from about 5.45 am. Early risers who walked about a lot!! Restaurant was very good with good service and good food. The breakfast was excellent. Excellent location above the historic Charlestown harbour. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay.」
