Close to the star is the Mill Mountain Zoo, where you'll see the endangered Snow Leopard, Amur Tiger and Red Wolf, along with 40-plus other animal species. Great location! Enjoyed walking the greenway with easy access to coffee shops and restaurants! Loved the close proximity to the Roanoke star and downtown! The kitchen was nicely stocked and the living spaces were comfortable. Would recommend!
We had a great stay at the River House. It was conveniently located for us, and met our needs well. We would recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay in Roanoke.
Our Stay was great. Home was close to many attractions. Two suggestions:!. Doors to the basement bedroom need to be reinstalled for privacy.2. Better lighting in the living room.
Great property near the river. Walking distance to Starr brewing and Blue Cow Ice Cream. Great location for hiking in the Roanoke area. Would stay here again!
We absolutely loved this VRBO! There's so much to do within walking distance in every direction. The house is also very cozy and quiet. We really enjoyed our time there and highly recommend this one :-)
The house was perfect for my family. Everything was comfortable, clean, and super cozy! The convenience of being able to walk to the hospital to visit a family member was wonderful and a huge stress relief. The walk/run/bike path that runs behind the property and along the river was amazing. Absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!
The property was as described. The check in process was extremely easy. There were no issues during our stay. The house was extremely clean. There were no issues with parking. Thank you for a very a good experience.
My sisters and I had a great stay here. There were four of us and it was very comfortable and clean. We loved the back deck and view of the greenway and a Roanoke River. We walked the greenway every morning and got to see the murals painted on the bridge underpasses. The neighborhood was safe and quiet and close to everything we did. Lots of food and breweries. The mill mountain star is close-and was a fun trek one night after dinner! Would definitely stay here again. Well stocked with comfortable beds.
This is a cozy and lovely property. There were a few maintenance issues one of which made for a restless night as the HVAC was extremely loud every time it cut on or off. Hopefully, will be resolved with a clean filter. But it’s a really beautiful house and the location could not be better.
The home was comfortable for the 4 of us in town for a girls' trip. We had some problems (a water leak in the basement ceiling, front door lock not working), but the property owner was quick to respond and troubleshoot. The basement bedroom area is not a bedroom; it's one half of the downstairs rec room. The downstairs bathroom was not in good condition. Street parking is plentiful and we felt safe in the neighborhood. The river is not visible from the property.
Great spot. The only drawback was that the edges of the carpet in living room are very slippery. But that’s as easy fix. Good place, good hosts. Would stay again
Everything was perfect and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had everything including k cups from a previous guest. Live music on the river the weekend we were there. I was glad to be forewarned the rug was slippery but 91 yo mom did fine.
We had such a lovely time staying in the house! Everything was clean well thought out. We even got a couple of “free concerts“with the venue that was right across the river. We sat out on the back patio and got to listen both Friday and Saturday night.
