"Great location, 10 mins from Chester. The spa was not overcrowded and the Japanese themed garden was very peaceful. Very clean and comfortable room. We didn’t use the restaurant but the bar staff were very polite and friendly. All in all, very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Would highly recommend. "

It’s a very old hotel but they keep it updated but somethings like not having walk in showers might put some off as the shower is a curtain around the bath but that just adds to the charm for us. "Staff very friendly and helpful. Double bed very comfy, single bed far too soft for an adult, fine for a small child. Rooms would benefit from a deep clean. The building is looking tired (visible bubbling on the walls, discoloured plug holes, tatty bed bases) and needs refreshing. For a spa day I would be disappointed, for a base to explore the area it was fine. The pool was a key factor in choosing this hotel."
