Pyramid of the Sun

Took a tour with Turbus. When we arrived at Gate 4 the tour guide mention if we wanted to buy gifts right after we were off the bus. The very first shack was really high in prices. I bought a 3 oz sunscreen for $100.00 pesos. Several steps later the jewelry vendors are approach you trying to sell 1 necklace for $300.00 pesos another one for $200.00 pesos. when we arrived to the main Pyramid Del Sol right at the bottom the same necklace was $60.00 pesos. Please DONOT buy with the first person that offers you items. I feel the tour guide should warn the tourist. The Pyramid tour itself is Great.

If you can find someone to drive you there that would be the cheapest way to get there. We asked one of our uber drivers how much he would charge us to go there and he ended up charging us 850 pesos. (we paid him $60 and it was 4 of us). Entrance to the pyramid is 80 pesos per person.

Use one of the guides and go in the AM. Wear closed toe shoes with good soles if you want to climb the pyramids. We did and really enjoyed it, but it was pretty strenuous.

Sundays are free for Mexicans so it was SOOO BUSY! Go any other day!

Prepare for several hours here. There is a lot of walking involved in order to see everything. The climb to the top of the sun pyramid was exhausting. Big steps and a rather steep incline. Very fascinating place!
