This resort is absolutely stunning! The rooms, the beach, the pool, restaurants, all beautiful. It is extremely family friendly. They have a great waterpark that’s ideal for kids 10 and under, activities throughout the week, and access to Fun Republic which is a great little amusement park. My kids would hurry up to eat dinner so we could go to Fun Republic every night. I would give this resort a 5 star if it weren’t for the food. We didn’t have access to the concierge so we had to stand in line at 9am to ask for restaurant reservations. If they had nothing available, you had to come back at 3pm to see what reservations the concierge level guests hadn’t taken and were available. We got a reservation every evening but one night. I saw empty spaces in a lot of the restaurants so I don’t think that this system is the best. But you can pay up for concierge service if you want to avoid the reservation line. We didn’t like the buffet. The food was always cold in the buffet but there was a variety. The food in the restaurants was good but the descriptions in the menu often didn’t match what you got. All this said, I would go back because the positives strongly outweighed the reservation shenanigans for us.

Paradisus Grand Cana – Beautiful Resort with a Few Rough Edges We just returned from a family stay at the Paradisus Grand Cana and overall, it was a wonderful trip — though not without some hiccups worth mentioning for fellow travelers. The Room: 10/10 Our Master Suite was absolutely stunning. My husband and I had our own private king bedroom while our kids were comfortably set up in the living area — our daughter on the pullout sofa and our son on a twin cot the hotel brought up for us. The wraparound balcony was a real highlight: beautiful, spacious, and very private. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. No complaints here whatsoever. The Beach: Excellent The beach was fantastic. We had a dedicated private area to ourselves and the attendants were genuinely attentive — regularly checking in with food, drinks, and water without us ever having to chase anyone down. This was easily the best service experience of the trip. Service: 7/10 — Inconsistent This is where the resort has room to grow. At the restaurants, it became something of a running joke for our family that if you ordered something, you’d receive about 75% of it. One morning my daughter’s Eggs Benedict arrived perfectly; the next morning it came out missing the hollandaise and the side. I’d order a coffee and a mimosa and only the coffee would show up. It was charming at first but got a little tiresome by the end of the we

The rooms were great, and property was in great condition. However the service was just okay and the staff seemed slightly annoyed when we were ordering food or getting drinks. The food was mediocre at best, except for Lemonfish, the ceviche was amazing and service good, the steakhouse served a decent steak but appetizers and sides were not great, we paid extra to try the lobster which was really dry, and service was lackluster. The minibar was supposed to get restocked with what we preferred but after asking for the first two days we started going to the bars to get the drinks we wanted and restocked ourselves. We were supposed to get a resort credit which they didn't honor at checkout.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay, but there were a few areas where the experience did not fully meet expectations. The concierge team was courteous, but staff engagement felt inconsistent. We had to follow up several times for dinner reservations, and on two occasions during our short stay, the reservations were not made at all. The shows were very entertaining and well produced, but seating was limited unless you arrived early. The pool area was excellent — clean, spacious, and enjoyable. However, there were not enough umbrellas to provide proper shade. While we understand that the daybed-style cabanas are a premium option, adding more standard umbrellas would greatly improve guest comfort. Transportation to the beach was also an inconvenience. The shuttle service was slow, with longer-than-expected wait times, and we often chose to walk instead. The spa facilities were nice, but very expensive, and in our opinion did not offer good value for the cost. Overall, the property has many positive aspects, but improvements in service consistency and guest logistics would make a noticeable difference.

We were at the resort with our daughter, son-in-law, 2 grandchildren (4 & 6) and our son-in-law's parents. The resort was perfect for our 5 day stay. The property was immaculate, the one-bedroom suite with a large balcony worked well, the waterslides and Fun Republic were a great diversion for the kids - they were even excited by the turtles and the koi in the water feature in the lobby. The beach was a 5-7 minute ride on a golf cart (which they had fun riding on) - they even managed to walk back from the beach one day when we couldn't get on the golf cart to come back (no "line" made for an "every man for himself" situation getting on the cart at the beach). One member of our party was looking for low sugar and gluten free options which were tough to find. They also commented that the fitness facility was not really large enough to accommodate the size of the resort. All in all it was a great stay and we would not hesitate to recommend this resort if you are travelling with children. As there were a LOT of young children at the resort (which was fine for us) if you are travelling as adults only, you might want to select a different property.

Speciality restaurants were hit and miss. Did not have all the menu items and sometimes dishes were missing key ingredients. The wait was sometimes long and sometimes not. Getting reservations for a big group was a challenge especially with younger children who could not stay up for an 8 p.m. reservation. Some wait staff spoke very unclear English. I hear the problem with people hogginng bala beds by the pool has been dealt with now. We stayed here last year and came back. We know not to reserve at the end of Jan. as a large group comes and the dining options are really limited. It was very busy this year but we could still enjoy the buffet. Room service is an option our group used and liked. One couple in our group found toe nail clippings on a night table in their room twice- not theirs- weird - they should have reported it. My shower water temperature varied a lot- could be scalding in a second even when I left it at the same setting. Had to use the wand to shower. The entertainment was good- but the music was often so loud it would be hard to sleep before 11 p.m. I love the set up with the suites and the pool area with lots of greenery and trees- The shuttle to the beach is great. Fun Republic and the new cafe by the pool were awesome free inclusions this year. Lost and found not good. My son left his charger in his room after he checked out and realized less than 24 hours later. They claimed to never have found it. We asked many times.

Property very clean. Rooms are spacious. The mail pool is super nice and sometimes there’s an inflatable for the kids which the kids loved. Kids club was awesome to get the kids out of the sun for 2 hours a day and the kids enjoyed the activities they had for them. They also enjoyed the water park (5 and 3 year old kids). The food was really. The tapanyaki was especially fun for the kids. Standing in line to book the à la cart restaurants was annoying and we couldn’t get the times we wanted (we were given reservations at 8:30 everyday which was too late for my kids), but we we to reception after and they were able to help change our reservations to earlier times and texted us everyday which restaurant we were booked for. You have to reserve a cabana by the pool early (between 7-8) or else you’re not getting one. The beach was really nice. Minimal seaweed. Beautiful white sand and blue water. The staff was really hospitable and helpful. Overall, we loved the hotel and plan on going back soon.

The hotel is gorgeous and perfect lcoation. the service is slow but that's probably because its an all inclusive. the food is not very good. the hotel also has you make reservations on site for dinners or else you have to eat at the buffet, but their hotel reservation system doesn't really work and they will tell you you dont have a reservation even though you waited in line in the morning for an hour to make them.

Great food, premium liquor, friendly and helpful staff. Pool was great and there's a short free shuttle to the beach- and a bar/restaurant when you get there. (Plus fresh beach towels)

Arrival was not very welcoming Never got the welcome drink like all the other guests. Staff was not graciously kind to elderly people only to the people who pay VIP. ….The beach was very inconvenient to get to, and there was not enough seating for the people of the elderly…. Food was horrible. Not much Spanish food and it was very bland.
