We honeymooned to Mexico Beach and this property was PERFECT. Literally within 300 paces from the sand. Lovely neighborhood, and walking distance of most everything you would want to experience. Lauren was always a phone call away if we needed anything. It was very clean and had everything you would need for a stay. Highly recommend this property for families or just for a couple. We will be returning to this property again!
House was just the right size for us and very nice. veryn close to the beach so it was very easy to go and come to beach. 'the host was very easy to contact and quickly helped us solve 2 small problems.

Very nice small cottage. Enjoyed!
This cottage was exactly what we expected and had everything needed for our short stay , even Internet. It was clean and only a very short walk to the water. Beds were comfortable and we hope to go back again for a longer stay. It was very nice to stay “off the beaten path” without all the noise and traffic. Thank you.
Fantastic location with easy access to the beach. Safe neighborhood. Lovely property. Nicely decorated. Excellent outdoor space. You can even see a partial view from the front porch. Perfect for two people. One bed decent, the other hard, but that is a personal opinion. Better than average kitchen essentials( although I suggest you bring larger tongs for grilling) The oven was the only negative. Needs to be replaced due to the temperature control not being readable and the stovetop heating elements were poor. HOWEVER, the grill was awesome and really all we needed for all of our cooking. Communication with property manager was laidback which was a bonus for us. Recommend 100%. I definitely intend to stay at this property again.
Great birthday gateway. Nice location & neighborhood. Queen Beds were comfy & home was modestly decorated. ***Need to update picture of home on VBRO. The color is white, not green. There is No screened in porch, fence or trees due to past hurricane damage.

Lovely little cottage, great location, needs new beds.
My wife, two sons and I spent a weekend here and we found the house tastefully decorated, generally comfortable, and conveniently located on a quiet corner just two short blocks from the beach.
We had a couple of nit-picky complaints. There were no wine glasses, so we had to drink our Cabernet from water glasses or coffee cups. There was not a single spare roll of bath tissue, and as four people go through a roll quickly we almost found ourselves in trouble before we realized there was no backup. Minor quibbles, but providing these would be nice.
However, there was one MAJOR issue that the owner acknowledges needs to be corrected, and before we book this property again we would have to make sure it had been. The beds were AWFUL - so bad that even our 11 year boys complained about them. We managed two nights, but if we had been there for a week we would have been exhausted from lack of sleep. We will definitely be back, but only when we have assurance that there are comfortable beds.
We were traveling to St. Vincent Island to assist the US Fish and Wildlife Service and needed to stay somewhere the night before. This house was perfect for that, comfortable beds and quarters.
Home is beautifully remodeled and very comfortable. Perfect for our stay in Mexico Beach. Steps to the beach. House was spotless and has everything you need. Loved it!
Great little house! There are a couple items I suggest the owner address. Both beds need to be replaced because they squeak. The second thing is that the TV was not easy to operate. We had a couple days of rainy weather and there were several controls but no directions. We also missed getting local channels and news. There iis no screen porch as shown in the pictures.
Beautiful little cottage house that’s perfect for 2-4 people. Very clean and has a ocean view that you can sit back and enjoy the sunset. It’s on a corner lot with parking for at least two cars and a boat . We enjoyed this place and hope to go back .
My husband, son and I rented this cottage for a portion of our road trip this summer. It was our first time in Mexico Beach and we found both the town and the cottage very peaceful and friendly. The host provided plenty of towels, toiletries and blankets to make everyone comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and the whole place was very clean. Location was great! Very close to the beach which was great for us since my son always wants to go several times a day.
Our son is 8 and autistic so I always like to leave a list of pros and cons for families like our.
Pros:
No shared walls ( noise isn’t a problem)
No carpet
Close to the beach
Quiet
Minimal decor but still cozy
Big yard
Quiet streets
Outdoor shower
Cons ( but not really bad things just things that make it harder for our family 😊) or things to know in advance.
Yard is not fenced
Glass lamps ( our kiddo is accident prone)
Dining chair styles were hard for our son to sit in properly because he lacks core strength.
No tub
Overall, a great pick for any couple or family. Definitely fit the bill for our Autism family. Hope we can visit here again!
This was the perfect little house for a weekend getaway. I particularly loved the short walk to the beach, the screened in porch and the cute decor. Lauren was also super quick to communicate whenever we had questions.
We booked a fishing trip for a weekend in Mexico Beach. Unfortunately the water was too rough so the fishing trip was cancelled the night before but we still had a good time. It was sad to see the aftermath of Hurricane Michael but Mexico Beach will always be one of our favorites
If you want to go "relax," this is not the place to go.... at least not right now. We vacationed here in July 2019 and every single house around it had construction crews from dawn to dusk the whole week. If I could share pictures with my review I would to help protect future guests from what we experienced. We couldn't even enjoy our morning coffee without being bombarded with the sounds of dump trucks and hammers every five seconds.
The inside of the house had obviously been completely renovated after Hurricane Michael. The decor was nice (with the exception of the door curtains which fell off every time you opened/closed a door). The beds were very old and uncomfortable, and there was no hot water in the kitchen sink.
The yard had not been touched in months. Weeds up to my thighs, and ant piles every few feet. Since this wasn't a "beach front" property, we were hoping to at least enjoy a nice yard for the kids to play in between beach time(s) but it was so unkempt that it wasn't worth it.... and the road was occupied by tractors so it was unsafe for my children to ride their bikes. So it was either stay inside, go to the beach, or drive to PCB... those were our choices.
It is a VERY short walk to the beach, and I feel that by 2020 or 2021 this will be a very nice location to vacation (as far as the surrounding environment is concerned). But the owner definitely needs to give some attention to the curb appeal of the home as well as some updated mattresses for their guests.
The beach was very private, but because of the construction on Hwy 98 (which you have to cross over to get to the beach), there were MASSIVE ditches between the dunes and the road. And the sound of the waves crashing at the beach were drowned out by road construction sounds.
The "location issues" I mention are of course not at the fault of the owners of this property. For the hand they've been dealt from the hurricane, they've done well making the property welcoming (from the interior anyway). The tone of this review stems from the property manager (& in turn the advertising of the property) not being honest about the surroundings of the home at this point in time. It is not a pleasant place to vacation (right now) & I feel duped for having spent all this money on a property that made it seem like paradise during booking. I hope that the owners take this review seriously and understand "location honesty" is very important for online booking.

Very nice inside
This location was the next best thing to being right on the beach. It was only a very short walk to the beach and the house was on a quiet street with little to no traffic. The house was small but perfect for our party of 3 adults and one 8 year old child. I loved having the outdoor shower and must admit that I used it every time instead of the indoor one! The only tricky thing was the door with the punch lock. It was sometimes hard to catch closed but an extra little push did the trick. We thought when we first arrived that the punch lock didn't work but after giving the door a little jiggle and trying again, we found it worked fine. The mattresses were a bit squeaky but we sleep with a CPAP and extra white noise maker so no worries for us! I'd love to return sometime when it's not quite so hot as during our July trip!

Charming Cottage
This little cottage is decorated so cute and was a really nice place for a quick get away. It's a short walk (less than a block) to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!
