"This was our second time staying here, and we love this place. The rooms are always nice, the pool and hot tub area are clean, and we love that the beach is across the street. The first time we stayed toward the city side, and this time we stayed on the mountain side. We actually enjoyed both views. We stayed for over 10 days both times and enjoyed every minute."

"Breakfast was cold, minimal, and had no flavor. It is exposed to the elements outside do pigeons and birds were sitting on the buffet tables. Even saw a pigeon eating eggs out of the container. Staff was ok. Got yelled at by a breakfast staff person for not getting breakfast wrists hands. We didn’t realize. Who is stealing this breakfast??? There are better ways to guide guests. When I went to the vat to purchase a morning mimosa with breakfast, the bartender told me the prosecco is upstairs and he doesn’t have it. Instead of getting and being prepared he said I can make you something different. Very lazy and unprofessional. Room was clean but old so it was decent/ok. View amazing. Building is old and out of date. The pool is good but that as far as amenities is the only good thing. "

"The spirit of Aloha is alive at Royal Kona! Great location, the views are impeccable. The lagoon is gorgeous and the staff truly made this a memorable experience. Yes there was construction- but the prices are adjusted and needs easily accommodated if asked and the disruption was very limited. My only challenge was getting my luggage to and from my room as parking was taken up by the luau upon arrival - yet I did not ask for help and likely could have. The hotel should consider discounted invitations to hotel guests to the luau as I wasn’t even aware it was there until I arrived. Nearby restaurants and coffee shop exceeded expectations but do stop in for a epic sunset and mai tai at least once. Don’t like the food at the restaurant?- tell them - and try again. The ginger sauce for the sweet potato fries is to die for. Really enjoyable alternative to the commercial resorts! "
