Southern Comfort Lodge is a wonderful, cozy lodge and is perfect for families who want to go to town daily. The Christmas tree was lit when we arrived and entrance was immediately cozy. Everyone had bathrooms and only master on main shared restroom with guests who were in kitchen and living room. There may have been two restrooms for three bedrooms on lower level but all the other rooms had individual restrooms. All but one lower level bedroom and one upstairs bedroom had bedroom doors open to decks. Had all amenities like seating areas upstairs, main level, lower level, a play area, and a washing closet. Kitchen seating area, fridge, and cooking was adequate for 18 guests to sit and have all the food we each brought. It was clean, up-to-date, well managed, and had towels, toilet paper, tiny containers of shampoo in bathrooms, liquid dish soaps, and dishwasher soap to get everyone started. Loading everything we brought was easy as you walk in almost at ground level and don't have to carry every suitcase up stairs to enter the cabin. The porch has a graded entrance that a wheel chair could easily enter the cabin. Since they are kind enough to allow well-behaved pets DO bring blankets so your dogs don't shed on their suede-like couches. We were careful to place six of our blankets on their couches so we didn't leave remnants of our fur family. How it compared to other cabins: we have been to other cabins in the area that of toilet paper roll
