"Our garden room was very basic but bathroom looked recently redone and very clean. Not a luxury accommodation but it was clean, right on the beach, the pub food was very good. My only complaint was lack of overhead lighting in the room. We knew it would be a no frills room but it was better than we had anticipated based on other reviews I had read. It was clean, staff was helpful and it served our purpose."

"This was everything we hoped it would be. Unique, private, clean, well equipped as it should be and convenient to the North coast for all the beauty and wilderness it has to offer. Everything worked except for the weather which no one can control. When I come back to Cape Breton, I will be booking Blue Bayou again and well in advance since it will soon be a must for thousands of Cabot Trail visitors throughout the season."

Unfortunately (for us) we visited during the September storm, which limited our locale exploration. But we were very pleased to have a safe, warm and comfortable "save haven" during the storm. "We had an incredible stay at this amazing house and location. The beach is so beautiful, the house was great and close to many activities (whale tours, zip lining, fishing charters, trails). I appreciated that the house was so well stocked with amenities that it made the stay so easy. We loved our time at this house and the owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had. Highly recommended!!"

"My son and I had an excellent stay at The Spruces. Very convenient location in Ingonish- close to many restaurants and attractions. We used it as a base to explore the east side of the Cabot Trail. The pod was super comfortable with all the amenities we needed nearby. Will definitely be returning in the future!"
