"I would come back to this resort! Our room was nice and clean, although it had a stuffy slightly mildew smell… That might be partly because of the tropical environment? The beds were comfortable and we slept well and the AC worked well, too. The bar staff was amazing! They were extremely friendly and attentive and gave great service and the pools were all nice and clean. The Japanese restaurant was closed when we were there, and the steakhouse was not good at all, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the buffet options every morning and night! The front desk was attentive and responded to our needs promptly… There was an active hornet nest on our balcony that they removed within hours while we were down at the pool! The RIU Fun events were nice, although they never seemed to start on time. During the day while we were hanging out at the pool bar or lounging that didn’t really matter too much, but it would’ve been nice to know that we didn’t need to show up on time to the evening events because we ended up waiting around. Once we figured out that the timing of things went a little late, we adjusted our plans and had a great time!"

"Amazing stay! The location was perfect. Secluded yet close to the beach and to town and very safe with 24 hour guarded/gated entrance/exit. The place was well stocked and the owner Donna and her local property manager, Rose, were extremely responsive, accommodating, and super helpful with this being our first time to Costa Rica. Highly recommend this place and we are already planning a return trip to stay at this exact place again."

"We had a very nice stay at the Dwelling Place. The unit was stocked well and all we had to do was bring ourselves, our belongings and any food we wanted to eat/cook. The A/C upon arrival was set at a comfortable level and was easy to adjust. We were provided w/ extra bath towels, beach towels and toilet paper. The built in shower/conditioner/bodywash dispenser is great and I loved the products they used! Parking is easy and Wifi was available as well.The condo itself was easy to find after the property manager provided a pin for our GPS. It's in a gated community so it felt safe. Ocatal beach (a black sand beach) is literally a 3 minute walk from the unit. There is a kiosk where you can book a tour or water activity from a local guy. People also fish from this beach. Unfortunately, Father Rooster restaurant was closed for vacation during our stay so we did not get to experience that. Fortunately, Coco Beach is less than a 10-min drive away and has many options for food.We did not have a chance to swim in the pool but it literally is 50 steps away from the unit. I did hit my head a few times when the washing machine door slammed on my head. And we had to just buy a bag of ice because the ice trays and the rack in the freezer were rusted. This did not affect our comfort or stay in any way.Communication with the property manager was excellent. Alex helped us get a discount at Diamanté Eco Adventure Park which was great. Would definitely stay here again!"

"My wife and I travel a lot and consider Kimpton's roughing it. This hotel was hands down the best-run place we have ever been to. The view is world-class, and the pool is incredible. Breakfast was great. The menu was more of a guide than a fixed option. The owner was such a great guy and helped us with everything we needed, including car repair. We will 100 percent be back."

"Property was very clean, comfortable and in very good condition. Short walk to the beach. The beach was clean and not overly crowded, with locals and tourists. We walked the beach to the connected rocks/land during low tide each morning. We always felt safe. Check in/out was very easy at the office. Property owner provided excellent information about excursions and the area and was very responsive to emails. Excellent location for family vacation. We did have a rental car and would recommend having one. Condo has a designated parking spot so that was easy. "

"What a beautiful space! Joe and Sarah have a fantastic place with everything you could want/need. The pool and view are incredible and give a great option if you want to have a place outside and have the option to get out of the sun for a bit. Very short walk to the beach as well as walking for two different restaurants.The house was great for a family so everyone had a private space but also a communal spot to have meals/play games/etc, would highly recommend to anyone traveling to that area of Costa Roca!"
