"When i first arrived, the place seemed a little bit in disrepair, but didnt realize how bad it was. The bathroom had a definite odor and by the second day plumbers were out and had me flush the toilet and run the sink. That night, after they left, the sewer backed up into the shower. Tried my best to clean it up with towels provided, but by morning, it was completely flooded and smelled of raw sewage. I let the agent know and opted to stay with my folks, which was a big inconvenience, but necessary. Host said plumbing and cleaning would be out soon to fix the issue, but i really couldnt stay in filth until they came. Host and maintenance were quite respectful, but does not fix the situation."

"It is a studio apartment with hot plate and microwave. Close to downtown. The bed is very comfortable."

"Overall this is a great little place. It's close to Winter Garden and the bike path. It has 1 dedicated off-street parking space (which is a premium in that location), and while it's small, the high ceilings make it feel much bigger. The host is very responsive and replies quickly. And though the pics don't show it, you do have a hotplate for cooking and a decent array of cooking stuff. Tip: Bring a chair. The only place to sit is the table bench or the bed.The downsides: you can smell everything your neighbor cooks and you have no control over the temperature. For me, that meant I was cold most of my trip when I was inside though the host did adjust the temperature when I contacted them. A couple things I'd love to see updated (1) A new mattress and some support under it would make this place so much better. (2) Swap the way the fridge door opens. It's a simple fix and would make it a lot more user-friendly. (3) It's a little pricey, but block the vents from the house and add a mini-split so the guest can control the temperature. "

"We had a spectacular time at the Oakland Manor House. It's a gorgeous, historic home filled with both handsome antiques and comfortable sofas and beds. The kitchen is fully stocked and a joy to use to make meals if you're so inclined. The bathrooms were very clean and well appointed with bath products and hair dryers for use. They even had coffee beans and a grinder for use. Very nice gestures. It was spotless and located in a lovely, safe neighborhood. We had a celebration of our wedding with twelve of our closest friends and family, and there was ample space for everyone to park on the property and enjoy a romantic and intimate dinner party. The host and caretaker were very communicative and encouraging. I couldn't recommend this property enough. Thank you for offering your home to us."
