charming hotel in midst of tea plantations

we had a lovely time in Galway Heights. We really liked the location in a small rural road close to a hindu temple and small village and in the tea plantations. Breakfast was very nice, and the staff very attentive. The only grievance was the lack of elevator. We would definitely recommend this.

Nice hotel even if lacking character

We had a pleasant stay here. The rooms are comfortable, but there’s nothing special about the hotel itself. The location is very handy for a walk through Galway Park and it’s out of the bustle of town. Restaurant is fine. The surrounding area is a bit hilly if you want to walk around.

Its more like a small boutique hotel. The facilities are limited and location is a bit inside. Its like more of a 3 star and the view is average but the staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is good but not great and the choice is limited. Its pocket friendly. Its fine for tourists with a medium bedget

Our stay at the Galway Heights Hotel may not have happened as I had booked the wrong night for accommodation! Dilshan and the team went beyond expectations and found 2 rooms for our travelling group (the last 2!)...was kind enough to show us the room and see if it met our expectations and had them both freshened up so that we could be comfortable for the night. The team at this hotel bent over backwards to help us, the room was big, comfortable and clean and the team in the restaurant were just as nice (the dining room is a work of art). The only thing to be wary of is that the rooms let in a fair bit of noise, so don't forget to pack your ear plugs!

Mind the step

Old colonial hotel, very decent. Staff were very nice. Restaurant not so good in taste. Carpets in the room needs change. No Airconditioned , because it’s cold you need heater. I found management didn’t do anything about the steps that just one step bit higher and front of my eyes 3 people tripped, including my wife. Not may people don’t understand why they tripped, but closer inspection just one step 2 cm higher than other. Not sure what health and safety in SriLanka doing about this.

Great!

Rooms are very clean and tidy. Had almost all the amenities. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Food was good; but had the same ala carte menus everyday. Therefore because we stayed there for more than 2 nights, we got bored of the same food. Suggest to change the menus at least every other day. Overall we were happy about the service.

Had more than enough night staff and they were helpful, but next day morning in the reception there was a young staff member who was managing the reception on his own could not even understand what I said, how to reply or speak English and how to print the closing bill to say there is nothing outstanding because I paid the dinner money when we had the meal and rest of the bill was already paid up front. This staff member running round in circle not knowing what to do and wasted almost more than 45 minutes of our time and made our day VERY, VERY MISERABLE... This should not be acceptable for a four star Hotel and I hope you consider paying for the inconvenience caused by your staff!!!

Charming small hotel with personal touch. Well looked after by Arull in the bar! Steps into the hotel despite a disabled access filter on the search but they made a temporary ramp within a couple of hours.
