"We stayed at the Arcer for my 60 birthday and it was absolutely wonderful! there was a surprise waiting for me in the room which was just amazing. I had a fantastic massage in the spa (by Rose) and the next morning we enjoyed roomservice breakfast on the private balcony. The bed was very comfortable. The property is super centrally located and everyone was so friendly and helpful."

"Was only at the hotel to sleep and overall a comfortable stay for 2 people. Highly recommend ordering off of the pillow menu for better sleep. Appreciated the filtered water station in the lobby to fill reusable bottles."
Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey Bay

"First of all, great location! Center of town between wharf and Alvarado street, we could walk pretty much everywhere. Plenty of shops and places to eat that were great. Upon arrival, Bell was very helpful. Walking in, the lobby had an off putting sewer smell that either went away or got accustomed to. Check in staff was not too friendly but did her job I guess. Stay: room and areas were keep well and felt very comfortable. There was a scheduled power outage that was not relayed until day of. Was not provided correct information that led to a less than comfortable night, however the property did make up for it. Parking was convenient. Overall, we had a very good stay at Portola. Staff could be a bit more friendly ."

"All the employees were very nice. Breakfast was good. Clean but could use a bar of soap in the bathroom and no literature about the hotel or the wharf. Had a great visit."
