This accommodation was amazing with super friendly staff /owners that treat you like their own whānau/family. The room was bigger than we expected, comfy beds at half the price of other similar places we have stayed at before. Totally recommend this lodge!
Absolutely epic! So welcoming, so safe- kids loved it!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Great place to stay - friendly helpful staff but lodge not ideal for children as lounge area is closed till 12.30pm each day so when children wake early there is no where for them to play so they run around the corridors. Would be great to have access to the lounge and tv all the time during stay.
Great place. Tracy was a lovely host. Welcoming us warmly and arranjing our stay accordingly. Strongly recommended. Clean and tidy. Great kitchen facilities. Well equipped.
Such a lovely stay. Hosts are friendly and helpfull. Good beds. Slept like a baby. Everywhere was clean. Good kitchen and nice common room. Booked my two-way shuttle here only 50NZD.
I stayed here during the shoulder season, so I was able to get more personalized and individual attention. Tracy and Thomas run a wonderful operation. After a long road trip, Tracy was tremendously friendly and welcoming. It’s a very clean, tidy facility. I can’t say enough good things about the property and the owners. I highly recommend that if anyone is near National Park, that they stay here.
Very friendly staff for this hostel. Our family had our own room with a double bed and twin bunks. Worked great for us. There was a communal kitchen with bins in the fridge to keep our stuff separate; bathroom and showers down the hall were very clean--nice hot water showers! Our kids loved the hang out room which had Foosball, ping pong, and pool table. Great location close to Tongariro National Park.
We arrived and were met by the hosts. Apparently due to practical issues the hostel was closed but rather than cancel us they had put us in a private bungalow...our own bedroom living room kitchen and bathroom... fabulous!!
The owners are very nice, accomodating and friendly. It's our first time to check in with this type of motel. The dining, toilet and living room are separate from our room. It's really unique but we still want our privacy and would like to have our own toilet in our room. Overall it was a nice experience.
Manowhenua Lodge was a great accommodation with great facilities that made it fun and feel homely. A big part of that was the service from Tracey too! She even lent me some hiking poles for my trek abd was so knowledgeable. This is the only accommodation I'd stay in, in National Park from now on. It was also great socially. 10/10
Tracy and Thomas are friendly and responsible. The bathroom and toilet were clean. The communal kitchen is very well-equipped with everything you need to cook meals just like at home. My kids especially loved the activity room, which is quite spacious and contains a ping pong table, snooker table, and board games that kept them entertained. My family and I really appreciated the hospitality and facilities during our stay.
The two host owner are amazing and lovely, they truly care about everyone. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable and updated in linen. Extremely clean kitchen and room. Super easy to be picked up for the shuttle to the Tongariro Alpine crossing right on from of the lodge. Easy to walk anywhere from the property.
Fantastic, comfortable place to stay with the staff extraordinarily hospitable. Tracy and Thomas run a great establishment and their friendly demeanours make the place.
