Soak in the healing waters of Shima Onsen's hot springs, where traditional ryokans offer views of forested mountains. Nearby Lake Nozori transforms seasonally, with cherry blossoms in spring and vibrant autumn foliage making perfect photo opportunities.
This was a very nice experience for me and my family. The hotel itself is very nice, but the best part is the service provided by the staff. Extremely courteous and they provided for all our requests. It's in a very nice location with 9 onsens (hot spings) within walking distance. As long as you stay in a hotel in town, you get a free key to access all of them. The hotel provides you with a Onsen outfit that we found very fun to walk around in (like a kimono with jacket and wooden sandels)....

Beautiful surroundings, and right next to the path that leads to the monkey park. We very much enjoyed the kaiseki dinner and Japanese breakfast. They were happy to explain what everything was and how to eat it, since a number of the dishes were unfamiliar to us (in particular with the breakfast). The public onsen is nice, and in addition to the indoor pool, has a small but pretty outdoor area. The staff anticipate everything, and somehow manage to be extremely helpful while leaving you on your...

Private retreat nestled in the woods of Karuizawa! Wonderful host - very friendly and attentive. Our visit in June was right before their hydrangeas blossomed….i can imagine it would have been even more magical!

Absolutely loved our story here. If you book here, get the Sora room. It is worth it. It has its own private bath and lots of space. We loved it. And the town surrounding, is so cute and fun to walk around. It is a short walk from the bus when you arrive. The staff was so welcoming and sweet. We highly recommend staying here.

A 5 star experience in a wonderful wooded area of the city. Striking design and great ambience combined with top level amenities, excellent food and friendly staff make the stay at this hotel an experience that I will always remember. Get ready to be spoiled when staying at this hotel!
Part of the amenities also includes plenty of parking and a free shuttle service to the train station.

The front desk agents were super kind and helpful. They both spoke English. We needed that.
Bountiful and delicious dinner and breakfast buffets were included.
Our room was amazingly well appointed and large. The king bed was beyond adequate. It was two full sized beds bound together.
We hope to return to this property some day.
