"A not so hidden gem with a rustic plantation ambiance. Lush surroundings, great parking, friendly staff, convenient to Volcano National Park. The 1/2 mile loop trail behind the property was a fun morning picker-upper to get the day started. It’s a little quirky that the guest check-in is in the gift shop, very laid back but service is wonderful. The restaurant is top notch and the portions are reasonable for the price. No tv in room which we did miss after a hard hike at Volcano, but not a deal breaker. in room gas stove was a cozy plus. The only thing we wish was different is the shower. The bathroom was plenty big but the single stand in shower was tight. Did appreciate the towel warmer . The night air was filled with coqui whistlings but we got used to it. Highly recommend and would stay again. "

"I booked for the waterfront view. It did not disappoint! Out of town, quiet, amazing view. Had everything we needed. Great communication with owner. Also, owner had some great suggestions for shopping and restaurants. "

"We had the best time at this little hideaway! It was perfect for the 2 of us and David and Wendy are wonderful. We didn't take advantage of the on site laundry, but it was so nice to have it available if needed.Property was as described if not better. Everything we needed. No wifi, but there is a cafe not far if you need to get some work done. We loved the frogs lullaby each night, and petting Tuffy the donkey was a joy!"

"Nice budget friendly part of the world in South part of the big Island. Very neat and tidy accommodation. Good bed. Quiet place. Access to punaluhulu black sand beach for an easy walk to see the turtles. Staff friendly. It is dated but def neat and tidy and we could have stayed an extra couple of nights. Worth the stop. "
