"We have stayed at this hotel regularly for the past six years, but unfortunately this year’s experience was probably the worst, particularly when it came to breakfast. The bacon and other hot items were consistently only lukewarm and the overall quality of the hot food was poor. This was disappointing given how reliable it has been in previous years. "This is a no-frills hotel, but it is neat and very clean -- especially the bathroom -- and the staff are pleasant and very helpful and responsive. For me, the location was ideal: a 15-minute walk to the the Art Gallery of New South Wales on the edge of the Royal Botanic Garden, and then a 20-minute -- give or take -- stroll through any of the many pathways down to the Opera House and the harbor on the opposite side of the Garden. The adjacent promenade is perfect for morning coffee while you plot your site-seeing for the day."
