This sweet little guesthouse is in a great location near the heart of "Mayberry" (Mt Airy). Within walking distance of historic downtown, the Andy Griffith Museum and Wally's Service station, this bungalow is tucked behind the main house for privacy and quiet. For many years, the property was owned by a local sign maker and this separate building was where he created his signs. Some of his creations are displayed on the exterior. The interior has been completely remodeled. The maximum capacity for this unit is 2.

Perfect spot for a quick visit to Mount Airy before heading home. Quiet area within walking distance of village. Near Blue Ridge Parkway.Owners accommodating.
It was wonderful, place was clean had everything we needed. They even had toothbrushes in the box and toothpaste if we had needed them. Would definitely like to stay there again in the future.
Darryl was wonderful and the bungalow was clean & close to historic downtown main street. Some of the greenery outside needs a trim and the outside of the place is just as pictured. So is the interior and it has the amenities to make you feel at home.
Nice bungalow for two, close to everything we wanted to do. Free WiFi, good restaurant recommendations, felt safe in the neighborhood.

We stayed here for a quick last minute weekend for the Truck Show we only stayed one night it was three adults and a great stay for us it was very quiet and felt like a safe neighborhood.the owner was super nice and respectful would definitely stay again.i honestly have no complaints
The bungalow we stayed in was cozy, well furnished and in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood that felt safe. The location was central to the downtown area and was within walking distance of many local attractions and restaurants.
The bungalow was as described and pictured. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. Darryl was extremely responsive to questions. Although a third person could stay I would say it is more suited for couples. We have a small SUV and the parking was a little tight. We were able to maneuver with no problem but it might would be a challenge with a larger SUV (?). The location is great as we’re able to walk to Main Street and see the sights. Very close to downtown Mount Airy as well. Very pleased with our stay.
We chose the bungalow because it was within walking distance to everything we wanted to experience. Darryl was on-site to meet us and the one bedroom apartment was perfect for us. We parked our car and did not move it until we were ready to depart.

A Bungalow it Is!!
Great location...not much experience with VRBO but appears these accommodations are minimal. Some TV apps work only if you bring your password from home.
This place was just perfect for us. Small but it’s all you need. Very clean!! Close to everything you wanted to do. The host was great as well!! We will come back!!
This is a sweet intimate cabin with an at home feeling. My husband and I spent 4 nights there and would highly recommend it for a cozy getaway. Parking is a little tight but manageable. One block away from downtown Mt. Airy but the stores are close for groceries or eating out. The host was always quick to answer questions or concerns. We will definitely rent from them again should we decide to return to the area.
We visit Mount Airy every year and usually have to stay 20 minutes away, but this year we were a literal block away from Mayberry Days by staying here. This is the perfect place for 2 to stay. Inside, the rooms were very clean and looked fairly new. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, as well as the kitchen area. They had some items stocked on hand, but if you need anything there are stores and restaurants close by. Really the only negatives are very minor, the driveway may be tricky if you are in a big vehicle, and the couch wasn’t the most comfortable, but nothing bad at all. Will definitely stay again.
The owner communicated well, the unit was clean. It was nice being so close to downtown Mt. Airy, my wife and I just walked over to the downtown area, it was really convenient. The only negative that I might have is the mattress on the bed wasn't very comfortable and there was kind of a musty smell when we first got there, but the smell either went away or we got used to it. Overall we were very happy with our stay though.
A nice place that matches the listing description. There was a clothes line in the back yard that was handy. The bed was comfortable. The futon worked for my 13 year old. The two portable AC units both worked well. The check in and check out process was easy. You can hear live music outside but it was not loud enough that is was an issue inside. Music can be enjoyed from the yard but is not bother some at all if you want to rest. It was a good place to stay.
We wanted to stay within walking distance of town for the festival. The location was perfect. We even had an amphitheater so close we could enjoy the music and never leave home. Our only complaint would be the couch which was uncomfortable for us. It's pretty hard and straight but for the few days we were there, we managed with pillows. The chair was very comfortable. Parking is tight for a F150 but we managed. This was our first trip to Mt Airy. We loved the town and surrounding area. If you don't want a view and just want a place within walking distance of town, this place would work.
Have stayed with the host before and knew if there was any issue, it would be taken care of immediately. I had none.A very quaint, well appointed bungalow with off street parking. It was quiet and dark at night, so no light disturbances. A plus for me. Easily within walking distance to downtown. I was very impressed with the cooling system (mini splits). The only suggestion/comment would be to include something to hang clothes on! Lots of drawer space. No closet. I used with curtain bar in the bedroom and it worked. Thank you for another lovely stay in "Mayberry!"
