What a great stay!

This house was plenty big enough for our large group that stayed. There are coffee makers and refrigerators on both levels of the house, enough bathrooms, an incredibly sweet game room and theater for the kiddos. The pool was huge and they have plenty of inflatables and noodles. They also have a coffeemaker and a refrigerator at the pool. I would say the house is definitely stressed looking in some parts and the refrigerators take about 2 days to get cold, but overall it was such a great time. Very happy we chose Hodo Hideaway! We will be back.

60th Anniversary

The perfect place for our 15 family members to celebrate Mom and Dad’s 60th anniversary. This is the second time we had our reunion at this property and we loved it just as much this time. Spent six days and had a great time, Plenty of room for everyone to be together and also apart when we needed to! Big well-equipped kitchen. Loved the pool (with a very fun slide) and hot tub. Had movie night every night in the theater. Sat on the huge back porch with everyone in the evenings to enjoy the sunset or the rain showers. The host was excellent at communicating. Got back to us promptly when we had any questions. The property is about 15-30 minutes from groceries and other shopping as well as the charming town of Blue Ridge. Overall, we had a great time and it was a great place to stay.

Overall good experience

Very pretty view!! The property has more wear and tear than shown in the pictures. It could use another full bathroom in the bottom floor (replacing the small gym with a full bathroom would be perfect). It also needs some hook on bedroom walls that don’t have closets. The current owner recently purchased the property so I bet some up-dates are coming. We did have a great time and the host was very quick to respond.

Ideal North Georgia Getaway

Fall foliage vacation for family of 19 with mix of age groups. This is a fantastic property with spacious accommodations and room to roam outside. The dramatic and secluded location perfectly fit our desire for a mountain getaway. The host was very responsive and addressed all our questions and needs. Gorgeous and functional house, fantastic host - highly recommended!!

Incredible resort-type beauty!

This place is MASSIVE! It comfortably fit the 20+ family members for our annual family vacation. The pool and hot tub were wonderful. It overlooked the mountains and had plenty of space for the 6 or 7 cars we had. Absolutely would recommend to any large groups for a beautiful stay in the mountains!

Great for a work retreat

Great house with lots of beds for a large work retreat. We had lots of fun at the pool and in the home. Really appreciated the checkout process being so simple. My only critique would be the number of bathrooms is too few for the number of bedrooms/beds.

Amazing house, property, and amenities

The space of the house and the amenities like the game room, movie theater, and pool cannot be beat. The host was the most responsive and helpful we’ve ever dealt with. There were some minor maintenance issues that could have been fixed before we got there, but Dana was very quick to help when we brought them to her attention. The house was clean with the exception of the floors. The kitchen was not as well stocked as we would have expected for a house this size. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would return.

Great for a family gathering!

Dayna and her team are excellent hosts! We loved the home and the location! There is so much to do at the house that you wouldn’t need to leave, but there are also attractions nearby for excursions!! Our family had a wonderful time. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Dayna!

Amazing Property but Needs Some TLC

We stayed here for a big family reunion. Dayna was fantastic and very responsive. The pet policy is very accommodating. We loved the space and it is huge! That being said we did have some issues with the cleanliness of the property. The floors were filthy and our socks were nearly black from walking around. Someone spilled water in the kitchen and the rag came up charcoal. I don’t think the cleaning service is doing a very good job. The place needs a serious deep clean. There was hair all over one of the bathroom’s shower walls, hairy dirty sheets in one of the bedrooms, bodily fluids on a bean bag, and the hot tub was slimey. My uncle went to sit on his bed and it fell to the floor. There were no screws holding it together. We reached out to Dayna and she had someone out to correct this right away! The owner of the cleaning service came to clean said she guessed they just missed those areas and they pay an inspector to inspect the property so they must have also missed it. The trash was overflowing when we arrived but someone arrived the following afternoon to take care of this. The towels and some of the blankets have seen better days so we recommend replacing these for a better experience. The porch, stairs, and pool deck are rotting and being replaced piece by piece. I was very surprised by these details given the excellent reviews so it may be that our experience was out of the ordinary. Our family loved our trip & enjoyed this large space & beautiful view!

Great family spot

We have an annual family get together and this was a great house for it. The outside view and pool area is to die for. The kids (and adults) loved the slide and the game room/theatre. Dayna was very responsive and made our checkin and checkout super easy. Great house- would highly recommend!

Amazing view, peaceful and amazing property owner

This property was amazing. We had enough room with our group of 19 people. The theater room was the hang out spot for most of our crew after rafting on Saturday. The property had 2 grills, enough room to cook for a large party. We are thinking about next year... You are missing out if you don't stay at this house.

We had a group of 23 extended family in our group and everyone enjoyed the house. Younger kids loved the indoor trampoline, everyone loved the pool and young adults enjoyed movie night in the theater. We unfortunately had to use the medical center in Blue Ridge but it was also a great experience. The host was very understanding about everything and was always very responsive to any issue or concerns we had.

Georgia 2023 Family Vacation Getaway

Host Dayna, the house, and the area were all great. We had a great week-long family vacation getaway experience. Our group consisted of my wife and I, our 4 adult children, their spouses, and 11 grandchildren spread out evenly in age from almost 3 to 14. This was our 2nd VRBO experience. Dayna was very responsive to all my questions and requests before and during our visit which was very helpful. The house is fairly isolated up a long, narrow driveway with few neighbors. But there is every amenity (gas and grocery stores, Wal-Mart, etc.) one would need nearby. Each day we had breakfast and dinner together in the house and did outdoorsy stuff in the area in between. In the evening we enjoyed the pool, game room, and theater room. The bedroom layout accommodated our group nicely. With a little internet research, planning, buying tickets, and making reservations in advance, we were able to cram a great deal of outdoorsy activity into 6 days including: - Hikes to Anna Ruby Falls, Dukes Creek Falls, Long Creek Falls, Amicalola Falls, and Trahlyta Falls. - A hike to the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. - A hike to the Toccoa River Swinging Bridge. - An Atlanta Braves baseball game. - A day on Lake Blue Ridge on 2 pontoon boats. - A ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. - A July 4th parade and fireworks in Blue Ridge. Lovely property

The house and property are lovely. But unfortunately the pool had begun leaking prior to our arrival and was about half drained when we arrived. With host Daynas superhuman repair effort, we were able to use it about halfway through our 3 day visit (with 14 children). Fortunately there is a lake close by (with rocky bottom and shore) and that worked out well until the pool was fixed. The kitchen is modern and well stocked with dishes/glassware. Cooking for 26 people was a challenge because we didn’t find large skillets/pots. We made use of the 3 outdoor grills on the deck outside the kitchen. Dayna was extremely responsive to our needs, even sending someone to repair a top bunk railing which had somehow disappeared.

Great House and Awesome Pool

We loved this house. We had a big family reunion with 16 adults and 8 kids. The game room / kids area was great and the trampoline and movie room were a big hit. The kids (8-12 yrs old) watched a movie with popcorn in the movie theatre every night. The pool area is fantastic as well. We loved the pool and hot tub, and the kids loved the slide. Several of the rooms with bunk beds are on the bottom floor with the game room, so the kids had a great set up, and the top floor was much quieter for the adults. We always do a big family olympics at our family reunions, and Danya was great helping me coordinate some of the logistics before our stay and was very responsive.

Magnificent Misty Mountain Lodge

Our family of 19 recently spent a week at the Misty Mountain Lodge. Before I get into the home’s wonderful amenities, let me first say the owner of this property was the MOST RESPONSIVE OWNER we have ever encountered in our 15 years of renting through VRBO. For anyone who is a homeowner, you know things can break or stop working at any time and without notice. But when that happens on your vacation, it can be doubly stressful for all involved. Even the best vacation homes can have unexpected issues, so renting one from an owner who is not only responsive but genuinely concerned about the guest experience is especially comforting. Three cheers to owner (Dayna) and her fabulous maintenance team for providing a magical stay. The house itself was beautiful, functional, and exactly as pictured in the listing. We had three generations of family in the home and there was plenty of room and something for everyone – from the large movie theatre, game room, and indoor trampoline to an 11-foot-deep heated swimming pool, hot tub, and a gated playground. A small pool house adjacent to the pool includes toys, floats, towels, a refrigerator, and a bathroom. The pool deck itself is huge and features at least 25 chairs for lounging and sunbathing. A covered area of the deck features 3 picnic tables for a poolside meal. The house has two gas grills which made for convenient cookouts, and a gas fire pit for those late-night s’mores. The house also has two Pack ‘n Plays and baby safety gates for the home’s two stairwells. The outside stairwells have locks as well to prevent small children from accessing the pool area. The easiest part of the stay was departure day. We were expecting a text or email with a lengthy check-out list of everything we needed to do before we left (i.e. strip the beds, leave dirty bath towels in the wash basket or laundry room, filling and turning on the dishwasher, cleaning the grill). Imagine our delight when we received an email that simply said, “Here are your check-out instructions: Have a safe trip home. I don’t believe in chore lists. Who wants to do chores on vacation? Not you, and not me. So travel safe, and thank you so much for staying.” Impressive, huh? I think our family used every amenity this house had to offer. The property is amazing, and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. We had a wonderful stay at the Misty Mountain Lodge and highly recommend this property for your next family reunion or vacation.
