Monumento Ruta de los Cenotes

Usually I stay at a different resort brand, but I decided to give the Majestic Mirage a try since it was a 5-star resort. This has been a very poor experience -- def subpar compared to every other 5-star resort I have ever stayed at. (1) They are short staffed, so wildly unresponsive. (2) They did not have their check-in system in place, so when I got to the hotel, it took them 3 hours for my bag to make it to my room. Since my swimsuit was in my bag, I basically lost a day by the pool. (3) The mini-fridge in the room was broken when i got here, (4) Several other less than ideal service problems, including asking for my room to be cleaned while away (they say that is a service on demand) -- I requested it when I left my room at 8:45 AM, when I came back at 3 PM, no service. Is it better than a 2 or 3 star resort, im sure it is. Is it close to any other 5 star resort that I've stayed at in the past 5 years, no. It does not live up to the advertising.

Family friendly. The food was great in every restaurant we went, from the pool restaurant to all others. The hotel is very nice. Take comfortable shoes, even for night time because you walk a lot! But they have various lounges, bars, coffee shops, ice cream places. Wonderful! There are a lot of activities such as bowling, golf, arcade but all at an extra cost. The shows were good but they always reserve large and better portions of the theater to groups (that probably pay them to do that) so it’s always a hassle. Make sure you arrive early to guarantee a seat. Same thing at the pool. It’s hard to find a chair. Overall it’s a great resort!
