The apartment is well located and very-well equipped. Andrea was sick so his wife Gianna met us and introduced us to the apartment and Monterosso/Cinque Terre. Even without any English she was able to give us the information we needed. The apartment had a good supply of necessary tourist information including the train and ferry schedules for visiting all five lands.
The trains operate every 10-20 minutes about 17 hours a day and are free with a pass to the national park (necessary to hike any of the trails).
The apartment is right in the heart of the "action" with many good restaurants within 7 minutes' walking time, 50 ft. from a small grocery store and 0-5 minutes of many interesting shops.
The air conditioning was capable of freezing us out, but was easily controlled with a remote control, and the laundry worked well.
The view of the entire Cinque Terre from the beach--about 3-4 minutes' walk away, on a clear day or erening, is stunning.
Monterosso is a lot of "place", especially for such a small town. The Cinque Terre are definitely not to be missed, and Borgo Antico is a great base from which to experience it.
