We – a family of 3 adults and a teenager from Vancouver, Canada - had a lovely stay at charming Casa Mirador in late March 2018.
We had difficulty finding the villa and therefore the company representative left before we finally found it. Casa Mirador is obscured from the little street and we spent about an hour walking around it and checking every villa in the neighborhood. We didn’t have a European phone provider on our arrival and really appreciated our neighbors’ offer to use their phone when we first arrived. We were given instructions over the phone how to access our villa, which was great. Our communication with the managing company was good (via phone and e-mail). (We did have some confusion during the booking stages, but it was successfully cleared before we left for Spain).
Casa Mirador is very well maintained, very clean and comfortable bedding. It has two relaxing patios (one covered and another -upstairs - very open with beautiful views of hills and sea in a distance. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and lots of cooking utensils.
Overall impression is that this place is very well looked after.
They put together a binder with very detailed instructions on everything, orientation and all kinds of information, which was very useful.
Casa Mirador is very secure even though it does not have a safe. We felt very at home there.
Our security deposit has been refunded within 2 weeks.
We didn’t use Carob Bar (within 2 min walk), as the new owners just took over and were in the process of getting it ready for opening on the day we left. They are planning to have longer operating hours, which is a plus for future stays.
The community pool was under renovation or some kind of construction. Unfortunately the weather was too cold and windy for the most part of our stay, and therefore we didn’t plan to use the pool.
The villa is located in a charming quiet neighborhood about 20 min picturesque uphill walk (10 min to come back :) ) to Mihas (with very overpriced shops and restaurants) and about 10 min drive to Fuengirola with more café, beachfront restaurants choices, market, shops, and train.
Overall, we had a very pleasant and memorable stay.
