「This was a charming inn in the countryside of Vermont with beautiful mountains and valleys. Excellent location in the Mad River Valley to explore the small towns surrounding it!! 「This is a lovely old Inn. We found that there was not good lighting to read in our room and just one chair. As the weather was poor It would have been nice to spend time reading. Ther is a couch downstairs that we could have used. 」

House is very old and only drawback (which is original to the house and should not be changed!) is the bar/latch style door handles. The Violet Room has its private bathroom across the hall landing, but if you get up in the night as we do, you do make a lot of noise rattling those handles! 「I had good communication with the owner but admit was disappointed by the over all experience. For such a high cleaning fee, I did not expect to have to make the beds when I arrived, but did find it was in the fine print. The house is in decent condition, but having the furniture all covered with furniture blankets made it feel cheap. The heating was erratic(hot upstairs and cold down), and I was awakened one night with water noises, which turned out to be a flushing of the water system right...
