First off, I'm going to highlight the positives, because this place has potential... The price was very cheap compared to other hotels on such a busy weekend in Melbourne..everyone hikes up their prices for Melbourne Marathon Festival. The location is fantastic, a short walk to MCG and accessible to public transport. The room was really spacious and my room overlooked some nice trees. The bed was clean and comfortable. The hosts seemed lovely. Now.. the cleanliness was beyond bad. It is in need of a deep, deep clean, and probably a fresh paint, because there is mould on the roof in the bathroom (all over it) and also in the living area right outside the bathroom. The splashback in the kitchenette area is peeling up, the door on the cabinets doesn't close, there are dirty marks all over the walls. The bathtub looked like it had mud ingrained in to it. I'm not sure how it's passing hotel/motel standards.

Sora is in a convenient spot, close to the city and across the road from a nice park. Quick walk to tram, bus and trains. Room was nice, bathroom looked recently renovated. My only complaint is that the cleaning chemical smell in the room was very very strong and lingered the whole weekend. Parking available was listed on expedia info, however did not know that it was $40 a night until we checked in. Staff were very friendly :)

Clean rooms, the hallway at the entrance has an animal urine smell. The motel was bought out and the new owners are constantly updating and working on the rooms. The rooms were great for the price and location.

I have stayed here a few times now. The rooms are clean and the view out the window (East) has a beautiful charm. Shower is lovely. Close to IGA shop. My toy Cavoodle also enjoyed his stay! Will be back again soon!!

Love staying here !! Definately the place to be whilst in melbourne. High level of service and the overall quality of the stay from the room to the cafe downstairs is just great. After hours check in for people who are arriving late and they are flexible in case you need to extend or a specific of your stay changes. Couldnt recommend more

Clean room, welcoming staff and nearby to venues and public transport. Only issue was Executive King Suite bathroom pictures is only in 1 room. Bathroom provided was same as general room, which I would have instead booked had I known. Otherwise perfect stay.

No shops nearby but not far from the Smith Street area. Also trams nearby. I wouldn't really call this a hotel, more like a glorified hostel. The room was good but that is all I can say about the place. It is not staffed most of the time. Luckily there was someone at reception when I got there as a solo female traveller. There are no other facilities what so ever, no downstairs seating area or anything. Noisy at night and I could smell smoking from somewhere!

Red and brown stains on the carpet, filthy mirrors, stunk like an old ashtray, mini fridge didn’t work properly and there was a lady loudly “servicing herself” in the hallway (until she was caught by cleaners) I’d give it negative stars if I could.

The original price of the accommodation was excellent. However on arriving I discovered that parking the car off street was an extra charge of $40.00 or an extra about 40% on the original cost of the accommodation. There was no alternative as the street parking was two hours that ran until 10.00PM so being at a function in the CBD street parking was not an alternative. The ad did say off street parking but I did not pick up on a $40.00 charge and as such it was a rip off and I was not amused and certainly won't be back. The accommodation per se was fine.

Do yourself a favour and book this establishment, renovated and clean, big rooms, ammenities, beds awesome, my second stay and the management are truly fantastic nothing is an issue so helpful and the price is outstanding, right in the heart of Melb book today thoroughly recommend and I’m not easy to please
