Very well located with friendly staff. While there's no on-site parking, there are a couple of public parking options within a 10-minute walk.

Perfect spot!

Perfect spot for Madrid! Right in the center and within a 20 minute walk to anything else. Comfortable bed and good service from the front desk. A great find at a very good price!

Excellent location in the centre of Madrid. A little cumbersome with the process of leaving the key at the front desk but it felt safe and the reception staff is always friendly and helpful. It can get a little noisy at night at times but that's part of the location being so close to everything.

The room is basic but very clean & tidy property. Very friendly & helpful staff. We stayed 2 nights. It’s in a neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants & was very noisy, tough to sleep with drunk people right outside the window all night long (mid week! ) No complaints other than the noisy neighborhood.

Convenient, clean, perfectly located and great staff. Big issue: it is almost impossible to have a good night sleep due to noise from other rooms, people in the street and music from a nearby bar. Can recommend only if you are a pro heavy sleeper.

Early December Stay is Esmeralda

It's a very centrally located hostal, the staff is very helpful, and the front desk is manned 24 hours a day. The main downside is the bar below because it can be a tad noisy until the wee hours of the morning. The internet was at times unreliable although they gave me access to another network.

The staff wss so friendly and helpful. There was an assortment of restaurants to chose from and you could walk to so many attractions from the hostel. You are in the very center of everything. The only complaint I had was that the delightful little street turned into a consistent roar of talking and laughing that lasted throughout the night. It was hard to sleep without ear plugs.... You will find them on the nightstand.

24-hour reception. Safe to stay. Friendly and welcoming staff. Room is clean. Location is perfect. But the issue is that the room is not soundproof. Locating right above the bars and restaurants implies it's super noisy esp at night, which the noise goes till 5am. Another issue is that seems the building's pipe would create noise when others are using water, as I often heard the pipe's noise at midnight.

There was a staff at the front desk who worked overnight that apparently refused to open the door for me. I was gonna go out very early in the morning and it was raining and I forgot my jacket. I went back upstairs to the hostel to get a jacket from my room and I kept on knocking the door and ringing the doorbell but for some reasons, he did not open it for me.
