Amazing and Beautiful

My husband and I decided to have our wedding here, and it was absolutely amazing! The host was great at communicating as well as very kind. It was the perfect size for our group to stay in and we all felt like we had our own space without being stacked on top of each other, and the outdoors area was just right for our number wedding guest. Be wary of the bugs though, they get absolutely crazy at night and are quite large, but it’s absolutely worth it for the amazing views and gorgeous house. (I attached some pictures of the outdoors space but they’re a bit blurry)

Family getaway

This was just what we needed. We had a family of 30. Included were teens that enjoyed having a separate space and pool table. The upstairs main room was so spacious and the tables were set up like a restaurant. Perfect for meals and mingling. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals. We would stay here again.

Wonderful spot for our second stay here for our staff retreat

A group of 25 teachers gathered to enjoy professional development and relaxation at the Westcott House. We had a wonderful time relaxing in all of the cozy spots and enjoying the pretty views of the fall leaves. We were glad to see the deck boards replaced from our visit two years ago. Our only complaint this time is how many stubbed toes we went home with from the raised bath mats! The property is wonderful and we hope to return again!

Large Family Perfect!

This place is massive, so much space for everyone and perfect areas for gathering, gaming, eating, etc… The outside porches have great views and the grounds are wide and well kept. It’s an older place and it’s been “lived in” so if you want immaculate perfection, this isn’t you. But for a large family or event .. can’t go wrong. 100% will be back again.

Lovely house to accommodate a large group

We had 25 people across three generations: 8 family "units", and the house was comfortable for us. Enough sleeping space, eating space and sitting space for everyone.

Great experience

We had a great experience; the rental is in great shape. It is well cared for, clean, and well stocked. In addition to out-of-town guests staying here, we held a rehearsal dinner for my son’s wedding. This was a great venue; the 35 people were comfortable and entertained.

We love Westcott!

I booked Westcott House for a cabin weekend with friends in October 2023, and we had the most amazing stay. I feel like the pictures don't do the house justice - it's so nice inside, HUGE, clean, and the beds are super comfortable. There's a wealth of outdoor space for activities, and it was nice having privacy with such a big group. Would highly recommend to large bookings - we will be back!

Family Week 2023

We really enjoyed out time together in the Westcott House. There was enough space for all of us to feel comfortable. Plenty of things for the children and teens to do. We loved the activities in the National Park, and on the river. Of course the Luray Caverns were also a hit. Our family rates this a TEN!!! Great place!!

Perfect spot

We rented this property for a get together for us, our children and grandchildren. It was perfect for our family. A lot of space for the children to play, they enjoyed the playground, and game room. Kitchen was spacious and very well supplied! We loved the decks and picnic tables and the many comfortable sitting areas with plenty of comfy couches and chairs! We also loved the location, it is out by itself and in a very pretty location. We will use it again!

Fantastic property

Fantastic property with tons of space inside. The kitchen had everything we needed. Linens provided was a huge plus. Easy check in process/checkout process. Clean up was a breeze with the provided house keeping service. The outside of the property has two big fields, playground, picnic benches, and a bonfire with wood provided. We had a group of teenagers and they all loved it. We also loved being so close to the Shenandoah for tubing and took advantage of Luray Caverns close by. Under the deck needs some cleaning . We encountered a lot of bugs and wasps while outside All in all would highly recommend. Bring bug spray if staying in the summer.

Great place but......

My overall impression of the place is wow! However there are some issues that need taking care of. The windows, of which there are many are all very dirty and most are inoperable. Two big sliding glass doors were extremely difficult to open and close there's rotting wood in several places and carpenter bees everywhere in the wood deck area. The gas fireplace in the main room didn't work and the hot tub was not too clean and kept blowing a fuse. We did bring theses issues up to hosts but they were never addressed. The place is getting old and in need of some much needed updating and repairs.

Great place for a big group

This property is very comfortable and has plenty of amenities for a short weekend stay or longer. We had a great catering company and Chef from Maintstreet Bakery help us out with some terrific meals. He prepared a lunch for 12 for our first day and then a bbq dinner with Ribs, chicken and more, also for 12, for Friday night. Food was delicious! Chef Chuck Arnaud is the owner and he and his staff did a great job.

Second to none!

This house was phenomenal. The photos are great but I have genuinely never been to a place where the house is better than the pictures. The rooms and beds were so comfortable, the activities were plentiful and amazing, and the fire pit was one of the best setups I have ever seen. Definitely would recommend booking here

Enjoyed but needs some attention

Overall we enjoyed our stay, but for how much we paid there are a few areas that need to be addressed. - some of the playground is falling apart. Nails and wood falling off. - The ice machine leaked all over the floor, left a constant giant puddle. - The door off the library/sun room is broken and very very hard to open. - Every TV remotes batteries were dead. We didn’t pack batteries. - We paid for the bouncy house thurs-sun. The manager never showed up Thursday despite the fact that I texted him the night before to remind him. I called him midday on Thursday and he said he wouldn’t come because at 5;00 pm there was a 20% chance of rain. It never rained. He should have at least called me to let me know. The corn hike bags were gross. We had a nice time, it’s in a great location, but you can’t charge a premium price and not deliver a premium experience.

60th Surprise Birthday

We had a group of 17 adults and 10 children. Ranging in age from 3-85. It was perfect for everyone. Clean, stocked with items you needed and located privately with great outdoor amenities too.

A great place to unwind and relax with a big group!

We rented the property for our staff retreat. We are preschool educators, and everyone deserved some time to kick back and relax. This house was the perfect place for everyone to have their own space, and to have enough space to gather together for meals and meetings. We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning in the future! The views were spectacular!

Wedding Weekend

This property is Absolutely fantastic and perfect was perfect for our needs! My daughter got married, locally and d this is where our immediate family stayed! Soo many rooms that we all had our wing…lol! And the fire pit and playground are amazing! It was worth every penny!!!!

Beautiful, clean and spacious

This house was amazing. Rooms were clean, views were nice, and check in was smooth and easy. My family enjoyed the updated amenities and the fully equipped kitchens. The home was well maintained and had lots of activities for the kids and adults. I even was able to rent a moonbounce from the property last minute with no issues. I can't say enough good things about this place. The fire pit and grilling area were great for our event and so were the huge decks and array of seating areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend. All pros and no cons.

Prefect Family Reunion Location

This was the first family reunion where we needed to find a non-family member's home to hold it at. The previous five were in a large house in the Carolina mountains. The Wescott House was a perfect venue for our reunion. One of the most common questions I got all weekend was "How did you find this place?" because everyone thought it was great. There was plenty of room for 50 people, and we could cook our large Syrian feast without trouble, thanks to the two large kitchens. This mix of indoor and outdoor space (including the playground, picnic area, and fire pit) gave us plenty of options to spread out and spend time together. We hope to have another reunion here in the future.

Excellent Experience

The house is beautiful and spacious and exactly as pictured. Host is extremely responsive. Overall great experience, and would definitely recommend if you have a large enough group and are traveling to the area.
