I was only here for one night and truly wished I spent my entire stay at the Clerk & Well. What a home-away-from-home! So cozy, quaint, spacious, and spotless! Top-notch hospitality from the entire staff. The neighborhood is also so lovely and central with lots of cute blocks to explore great restaurants and wine bars. I am so happy to have found this gem of a hotel. Thank you!

I loved our stay...the room, location and vibe were perfect for our quick London getaway. But it was the staff who made this place great...they went the extra mile for us. My biggest regret was not having time to try the earl grey sticky toffee pudding.

5★ — Stayed here on a work trip and loved it. The staff were fabulous (even carried my luggage to the room), the on-site pub was a gem, and the food was spot on—proper sausages & mash with a cold cider. My room was surprisingly large for London with a UK king-size bed, and housekeeping kept it stocked with snacks and tea every day. Charming, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming.

Spectacular

Everything was just so perfect! Would definitely recommend and public transport was everywhere so it is easy to get around! Rooms were amazing and staff was 5 stars. Definitely staying here again when I come to England again.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days during our stay in London. Loved the convenient location and having the pub was wonderful. Room was very nice. Just be aware that you need to climb stairs to the rooms and the step up to the bathtub was pretty high. Other than that, was excellent, and the staff exceptional!

This is a lovely place in a convenient part of town. The room was immaculate and the pub served great food and drinks (with a nice discount for those who stay there). The pub staff were super friendly and helpful and a shout-out to Tina for a smooth check in and awesome hospitality. This is a gem of a place!

Excellent stay. Could not fault this. Staff were excellent particularly when we left our keys in the room one night l. The room we had , no 4, was lovely. Spacious, excellent bed and aircon on what was a scorching weekend. Bathroom kitted out beautifully. Will definitely stay here again and at others in this group

We travel to London frequently and were excited to stay in the Farringdon area. The reviews and photos for the Clerk and Well were exceptional. The experience was something different. The location is great and the pub is a great place for a pint and a bite to eat. However the room was very small and sparce with no place to put luggage and the bathroom was extemely small, no bigger than a closet. The shower clogged and was never properly fixed so we had to limit our shower time to minutes in order to avoid overflowing. We would not stay here again and would not recommend.

I stayed with my 18 year old daughter for 4 nights at the Clerk and Well. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly! Jude gave us a great list of places to visit and everyone working in the pub was always helpful and kind. The housekeeper went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the fan and ac worked like a charm for a comfortable sleep. Lastly, we had a large bathroom with a shower and tub. We would definitely come back again.

Luxury and convenience

Great rooms and right above a great restaurant. One of the best meals we had in London. Only spent 1 night but enjoyed our stay and the checkin was smooth and host was great. It was Easter Sunday and he was doing it all. They do tell you that there's no elevator so if you have big bags there are steps and you could go more than 1 flight of stairs, but they will offer help if you need it.

The room was quite good—spacious, recently renewed and clean. But there are four stairs to my room (#6). It was awful getting there with luggage. The check-in process was as straightforward as the check-out. Breakfast was good, and the waitress was super supportive.

Lucky find. 20minutes from Covent Garden walking. Holborn and Chancery Lane tube stations 10 minute walk. Easy check in. Spoke to friendly bar staff who immediately checked us in. Lovely, clean large room. Very comfy bed with lovely bed linen. No breakfast tea and not enough milk but we could have easily asked in the bar if we were that bothered. Unable to have a bath as the plug was stuck but very minor issue as the shower was great. Complimentary body wash and shampoo. We were too keen to explore so we didn’t have a drink or eat in the pub but you do get 10% off for being a guest. Would highly recommend. Do shop around online for room rate as some sites vary hugely. We paid £225

A quick and pleasant night at The Clerk & Well Pub

We had a one night stay in London before returning home. Our room was clean and very roomy. Air conditioning and a ceiling fan cooled it down nicely (an odd warm spell while we were there). We had interaction with various members of the staff during check in, eating dinner in the pub, and check out. They were all very friendly and helpful. We arrived before check in, stashed our bags in a storage room and headed out to see the sights. We were on the top floor of the hotel and had to climb 3 steep and tight stairs. Something to keep in mind if you plan to book here. No issues for us and they did carry up our suitcases from the storage room while we were sightseeing. We had dinner and the included breakfast in the pub and both were delicious. Hotel was across the street from an amazing street full of food vendors. We didn't partake because of timing but we walked through and it smelled and looked amazing!! All in all we would highly recommend Clerk & Well Pub
