The property is in a fantastic area, within walking distance of most of what central London has to offer. Seven Dials is a quieter part of town, with a mix of slightly higher end shops and cafes. The pub across the road started loading kegs in at about 7/8am, but aside from that the area was very peaceful overnight.
The room we chose was a Superior Double. On checking in we were told that our room was quite small and were offered free breakfast. This was slightly annoying, as we did not want to have breakfast - we wanted a good-sized room. While it was a nice gesture, it straightaway gave me a negative impression about what the size of our room would be.
The room itself was finished to a high standard, and none of the elements appeared to be dated or dirty. The room and bed, however, were very small. If I was travelling solo this would’ve been fine, but as a couple it was too small.
The bath was an odd shape, the shower was at an odd angle, and for some inexplicable reason the coffee machine was in the bathroom. Why anybody would want to make a coffee next to a toilet is beyond me.
The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a misunderstanding which meant I had my card charged twice (this was eventually sorted out). This left a slightly sour taste to the check-in procedure.
Overall, this hotel felt slightly more style-over-substance. On the surface it is a nice looking hotel in a nice area, but ultimately it was small, expensive, and nothing too special.
