"I showed up at check in and was informed they cancelled my reservation because they overbooked. The woman came out to give me the bad news, made me stand on their doorstep while I tried to figure out another place to go. NO hospitality to even offer me a drink of water or a place to come in and sit as tears started to run down my face as I began to cry. The woman did not seem to care that I had booked two nights, and now was faced with the possibility of sleeping in the streets. It felt like the woman was blaming me when she said, “We have been trying to contact you, and so has Expedia.” Expedia remains unaware that the business cancelled on the day of my arrival, and they still have NOT issued a refund for the room they cancelled. Do yourself a favor, stay elsewhere. The town of Leven is too small to book a room that is not guaranteed, and after calling several other places, I was able to find a room, but this would have been disastrous otherwise."

"Terrible experience !! The room was advertised for four people, it could hardly fit two. There was no place where to hang the clothes, and no space to move around !! Absolute disaster !! Had to cancel the reservation and booked another hotel !! Even though it was their fault for advertising that room for four people, and it was not, they charged me for one night !! Terrible experience, don’t book that hotel !! Save your money !!"

"Great property ideal base all the essentials provided. One aspect is depends on electronic media for info. Would have been better to have written laminated instructions about the bins cooker etc. info on local amenities and places to visit. Etc. didn’t get email about what to do until second day and didn’t see it until late on. Just a point for us oldies who like to read things!!"

"Our experience with this property was very mixed.The location was good. Great views to the sea from the property, and great access to some nice trails. The neighbourhood was quiet apart from the property downstairs that appeared to be getting renovated and the noise started early. Parking in the street was a little tight as the street is very narrow but there is plenty of parking further down the street.The extension with the kitchen and living area was really nice with plenty of daylight and a very comfortable sofa.We struggled with the communication with the host. Although he responded quickly, we did need to prompt him e.g. to get the lockbox code on the afternoon of arrival. We were told before we arrived that one of the two toilets was not working and he did not appear to be bothered about getting it fixed. We had to ask him to call a plumber but the issue was never resolved.Overall the property was poorly maintained and there were many issues that we would not expect to see in a holiday property. This included no curtains or blind in the upstairs bedrooms, a bulb missing from a bedside lamp, a bedroom door with a broken handle and would not close, broken clothing rail and no binbags in the kitchen bin which we had to go out and buy as soon as we arrived. We also had issues with the wifi being temperamental.Many of the issues noted above would be simple to fix and therefore it was disappointing that these were not dealt with before our stay."
