Lisbon is a walking city and this apartment puts you right in the middle of it. 3 min walk to the main train station- 15 min walk to the trains going Cas Cais. It’s located just off Figueira Square. The airport is less than 15 min by car. The management company here connects you with a service to pick you up at the airport, so you don’t need to figure that out. It’s about $35 US. It’s easy to do Lisbon without renting a car and the trains/buses can get you most anywhere.
The apartment is spacious, clean and updated well with a fairly well equipped kitchen and w/d. The management staff is easy to contact and responded quickly to the few needs we had. Also, arrival/departure times don’t always coordinate with checkin/checkout times, there is a nice luggage storage facility in the parking garage under the square 1min from the apartment.
Back to location- you can get to many of the main neighborhoods by foot. Some are close and some a little further, but there is so much to see and do on the way that it’s no big deal to walk a little further. We walked to Alfalma, Bairro Alto, Chiado and others.
There are markets close by and plenty of restaurants as well. In Lisbon, Trip Advisor seems to be a better resource than Yelp. For getting around to other places, there are plenty of Taxi’s, Uber and Lyft. We also took a “tourbylocals” which was great to get the history and culture of the city. Find Isabel for this. She was outstanding for a private tour at a decent price. Also consider on of the sunset sailboat tours on the river. You see and learn about the city from the water. It’s not a “booze cruise”. Hit timeout market for food, wine and people watching. The crowd lessens around 4pm for shorter wait times.
