"The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. The daily housekeeping was especially welcome. I've stayed in many hotels in the Bay Area that only had maid service every few days, and even getting fresh towels can be a hassle. At Baymont, the room was always spotless by lunchtime. Staff is friendly and helpful, and the heaters work great... which is a big deal on sub-freezing nights. This is now my first choice when staying in Susanville for work."

"This is an amazing ranch property owned by a multigenerational family who stayed to fight the recent wildfire and saved the area around the ranch. This is as close as you can get to the Yellowstone (series) experience in Northern California.This vrbo is a basement studio under a ranch family member's residence, so expect some noise from above. He is very friendly and has a chill dog. The bed is one of the best we've slept in! The hot spring (basic metal tub setup with a deck and chairs) is on the ranch property nearby. You can only find it using the instructions inside the room as it's located on the ranch area across the main road and behind 2 cattle fences and across a tiny wood bridge. 4 wheel drive vehicle is advised but we made it without bottoming out in our Tesla Model 3 to both the dock location (free kayaking) and the hot spring during the dry summer, but would not try it if mud is possible. You will likely be alone at either location unless another guest or family member shows up.A 120v outlet is near the parking area so we were able to trickle charge the EV and made it back to the Sacramento area with no problem and also drove to Lassen Volcanic Park Bumpass Hell trailhead whole there. Fully charge in Truckee on the way here for best range."

"There were a couple minor plumbing issues, but overall excellent accommodations. Lots of toys and board games for the kids, a good selection of DVD movies for all ages and quiet solitude. Barbara is a nice lady."

"We loved this property! Elizabeth was a fabulous host and responded to our questions very quickly. If you are traveling with kids, this is the place to stay! Tons of things to keep the kids busy, ping pong, basketball hoop, lots of water toys and floats. The neighborhood is super calm and quiet. We brought scooters and the kids rode around all week with no issues, everyone drives super slow and it felt really safe. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need to cook and enjoy family time. The hot tub was a perfect way to end a long day of exploring the area. Our only (minimal) disappointment was not being able to use the outdoor fire pit in the back yard. BUT, we completely understand that it was off limits due to neighborhood restrictions as a result of recent fires in the area. Elizabeth has provided a gas fire pit on the back deck and combined with the party lights it still made for the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail and “time around the fire” with the kids. All in all, this is a great property and I would recommend it to any and all of my friends and family to come stay when in the Lake Almanor area! "
