Las Terrenas Vacation
My wife, our two friends and I had a great time at El Portillo in Las Terrenas. The apartment was spacious and well equipped, plenty of room to hang out together and separately. The Beach Club on the property was fantastic, huge pool with excellent service and great food. We came from staying a few days at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, and the food and drink at the beach club were better than at the resort. Just steps past the beach club pool is the beach itself, which is also beautiful - a wide beach of soft sand. There were plenty of chairs available at both the beach and pool. It was never crowded, we saw a handful of people during our four nights there, and oftentimes had the pool and beach to ourselves. The residences are a short drive (less than five minutes) into Las Terrenas itself, where there are super markets, bakeries, cafes, bars, restaurants, and night life, as well as plenty of beach. We popped into town for dinner/drinks a couple nights, but also picked up groceries and cooked in the apartment. It's an ideal location for a vacation - easy access to the bustling town, but surrounded by tranquility.Manuel the host was very responsive and easy to get in touch with. He responded to my messages very quickly and was extremely helpful. The apartment has beach chairs (we never needed to use them) and beach towels, which came in handy, and a washer and dryer in the apartment, which was helpful. There is a Clay tennis court on site, too.I highly recommend!
