Blue Ridge Hideaway at Lake Toxaway w/ Hot Tub

Welcome to the Blue Ridge Hideaway at Lake Toxaway. This beautifully renovated house has room for up to 10 guests, a hot tub, a fire pit, and a ping-pong table. Enjoy amazing sunset views with the family and kids. Rest easy knowing we are baby friendly with baby gates, a travel crib, and outlet covers. Our fully fenced-in 1.5-acre property is pet friendly and has plenty of parking. Close to waterfalls, hikes, and fantastic trails. Lake Toxaway Marina is less than 5 miles away.

Lake Toxaway access via the marina, 6-person hot tub with color changing lights, lake views, walking distance from the Grand Olde Station, ping pong table, fire pit, and super fast high-speed internet connection(up to 1 GB download speed). The home also has excellent cell phone service, which tends to be sparse in the mountains of western North Carolina. Important Note: Our house is across the street from Lake Toxaway and does not have a private dock* We are one of the few pet-friendly homes in the area, and we are fully fenced in for your dog to roam. Plenty of board games and a Nintendo wii game console for indoor fun.

You can access Lake Toxaway through the Lake Toxaway Marine, approximately 4 miles away. You can rent a boat, as our guests. There are several options for renting pontoon or fishing boats. Reach out for more info on boat rentals. There are also several excellent playgrounds in the area for kiddos.

I am available via text during your stay from 8am-9pm daily.

Lake Toxaway is the largest private lake in North Carolina. You get access to the lake via our home. If you want to rent a boat, you will do so under my name as a guest.
The Grand Olde Station is open for the season. Walk down to great dining and drinks!

Swim at your own risk: Guests swim, wade, boat, and otherwise utilize the lake at their own risk. You understand the use of the lake is at your own risk, and that unique risks may be involved in using the lake. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury from using the lake and hold the owner harmless. You understand there are potential dangers that the lake may present to children and adults who are not carefully supervised if a person has health risks, is pregnant, or is intoxicated with any drugs or medication. You agree to explain the dangers of using the lake to any guests you may have at the property and to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents your guests may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and your guest(s) for the consequences of those risks. You agree to waive any claim against the owner for accidents or claims arising from your guests' use of the lake.

There is skiing at the Sapphire Valley Ski Resort less than 20 minutes away. The Grand Olde Station restaurant located just below the property is typically open11am-9pm.

While we have access to the lake via the Toxaway marina, we don't have access to the swimming pool, tennis courts or golf course.

The driveway is gravel and is relatively steep at the top. BE SURE AND KEEP MOMENTUM WHILE DRIVING UP THE DRIVEWAY.

Landscaping: We do have a landscaping crew that comes every other week. We will do our best to communicate their schedule with our guests, but be aware that they may come while you're at the property.
Rules – Shower before entering hot tub. DO NOT SIT ON HOT TUB COVER. No food in hot tub. No persons under the age of 18 allowed in hot tub without parental supervision.
No parties. Be careful in bathrooms and garage: both floors are very slippery when wet.
People other than those in the Guest party set forth in the reservation may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest. Guests are not allowed to exceed the occupancy limit agreed to in the reservation.
No smoking. Pets: PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE ONE OF THE FEW PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTIES IN TOXAWAY. WE REQUIRE A $150 NON-REFUNDABLE FEE. WE ALLOW MOST DOGS- BUT NO CATS. ALL DOGS MUST BE current on all shots, and on flea and tick prevention. Please pick up all droppings left by pets. No pets are allowed on furniture or beds.

Septic: The property is on a septic system. The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, guest could be charged damages of up to ___$1000.00____.
BUNK BED SAFETY WARNINGS: There are certain risks associated with using a bunk bed and bunk bed ladder, and guests agree that use is at your own risk. Property owner assumes no responsibility for personal loss, injury, or illness of any kind which may result from use of the bunk bed and ladder. The owners are not liable for any accidents occurring. Parents with children should be especially cautioned regarding ladder use and agree to accept all responsibility for minors. While not an exhaustive list of precautions, guests agree to follow these industry standards: 1) Use of top bunk is limited to occupants 6 years or older; 2) Use of top bunk is limited to 1 occupant and a maximum 175 lb weight; 3) No jumping or other horseplay on or around the bed; 4) Always use ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
Fires: Please keep any fires contained to the fire pit and do not cut branches or any trees down to burn. Do not burn anywhere except in the fire pit. Please park inside fits as we share a driveway with my neighbor up until the gate.
NO LIABILITY/INDEMNIFICATION/HOLD HARMLESS: The owners of the property do not assume liability for the loss, theft, damage or injury (or death) to persons or their personal property. Guests agree to indemnify and hold the owners harmless for any liabilities, theft, damage, cost or expense whatsoever arising from or related to any claim or litigation which may arise out of or in connection with Guests’ use and occupancy of the rental property, including but not limited to claims for personal injury or property damage/loss.

We stayed here with our dogs, infant, and mother for a nearby wedding. We didn’t get to use the hot tub but typically that's a huge plus for us! We loved being able to walk down the driveway to a lovely dinner and being able to see the lake was a nice perk. The dogs enjoyed running around the yard and the home was perfect. They even left us little snacks that were very much appreciated after our drive in!

We met ours friends from FL for a 3 night getaway as they were up for a local wedding. My husband and I are from Chapel Hill area and we wanted a place that could accommodate all 4 of us and our Chihuahua Henry. John was a great host, checking in with us periodically, etc. We had absolutely no issues. Everything was well stocked, comfortable and convenient. We day tripped to Brevard and Highlands. If you like antiques check out Mantique in Brevard and for coffee try Cup & Saucer. (Luckily we drove our truck so we could buy the big antique grain bin and sailboat weathervane that I loved.) We dined at the Edward’s Inn and shopped in Highlands… loved it! We ate dinner at the Old Station, the food was good and the atmosphere and service were really nice. Our friends had a picnic at Gorges Park and Whitewater Falls. It was another hi-light. We all agreed John’s place was perfect!

This is our first experience renting a house and they really set the bar high. First, I would like to state that, if you have a dog, walk the fence daily to ensure there aren’t any openings for your dog to get out. Ours got out, but we got her back thanks to our Fi collar. Second, this place is amazing! While we were here to visit family, we were still able to enjoy some of the local sites: Oscar Blues Brewery, White Squirrel Arcade, Downtown Brevard, and a few other spots. This house was very clean and has a lot of amenities. The host was amazing and made sure that we were enjoying our time on the property.

I have no complaints. The property was fantastic for a family- plenty of room (and barhroooms!) for everyone, huge dining table for family meals and games, convenient to great hikes, yummy restaurant a walk away but no traffic or noise to bother you at the house. My teen boys loved the wi, I loved early morning coffee on the porch with views of the lake. The host was SO easy to work with and accommodated a date change for us. Would recommend and want to check out his other properties!

Property location was great! Access to boat rentals on Lake Toxaway worked seamlessly, and the lakeside restaurant within walking distance was so fun. Small hot tub issue, but the owner was super responsive.

Really great little cabin in the Lake Toxaway area! Kids loved the hot tub and ping pong table and the owner also provided firewood from the shed during our stay for the outdoor fire pit. Great communication from the owner and the nearby hiking at DuPont, Pisgah, and Gorges can’t be beat! Really good restaurant (Grand Olde Station) right below the property too so can walk to a great meal or drinks. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for a quick weekend at this cabin in Lake Toxaway. We really knew nothing about the area and picked it off the map. My family loved the location as it was close to so many hikes and also other small towns like Sapphire, Cashiers and more. This cabin had everything you could need for your stay. We enjoyed our time and will def be back to the area and even this cabin. Thanks for a great stay.

The Blue Ridge Hideaway was the perfect spot for my family to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and all that Lake Toxaway has to offer. The house was clean and well equipped. The owner was communicative enough to make sure we had everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed the pool table. We highly recommend!

Such a lovely stay in late summer. The home was beautiful and we had everything we needed. Keen eyes may spy a white squirrel who lives in a tree nearby - look toward the lake from the fire-it - there's a tree with a knot and you might find them.

This property is an excellent home base for exploring Lake Toxaway, Cashiers, Highlands, Brevard, etc. we stayed a full month and were very pleased with our experience. John is an absolutely fantastic host! Communicative, but not overly so. Very responsive and flexible. He goes above and beyond to make sure the guests have a great experience. The place was clean and well-stocked. We made great use of the ping-pong table in the evenings. The 4-foot fence and the wooded yard are great for smaller dogs. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the property!

This was a last-minute Monday-Thursday getaway for my wife and I and our dog. It's a beautiful area with access to some incredible hikes, and the house was very well set up and clean. The host (John) provided thorough information and was timely and direct with check-in/out communications. We hope to return!

Asa family of 6, we visited this rental over NYE and it was exactly as pictured and described. The trip was planned for a birthday and NYE and with four kids, we needed all of our boxes checked as far as what we were looking for. Everyone had plenty of space, not just in sleeping quarters but also bathrooms and common areas, the outside space was great as well. We used the hot tub multiple times with no issues. Plenty of kitchen utensils and equipment which was great. I’ve been to some rentals before where you just feel like you’re missing your own kitchen and this one was very well equipped. One snafu with the master bedroom but the host/owner was quick to respond. I’d love to see a new bed frame in there, as previous renters must have not mentioned damages at their checkout. It’d be great to visit this property again.
