We loved the simplicity of the property, we enjoyed sitting and talking with the family over breakfast. The entire family was very accommodating to us. We loved all the tropical plants in the backyard. We would definitely go back.

La Palmera Real was excellent in terms of bed comfort, air conditioning and cleanliness. Not a fan of Hydra showers but once we learned to let them run slow it was as good and warm or hot as any shower. Could use a few hooks or bars or similar to hang up towels or clothes. Basic. Road to house could use some repair work. Nice family. Best wishes to their continuing growth and success.

Great place. You can walk into La Fortuna, safe area. There is a sign on a tree when you hit the dirt road - we didn't see it as it was dark and turned around but it is down the dirt road about 100 meters

La Palmera was exactly what we were looking for in La Fortuna: a quiet, family run place. While it was still close to everything we wanted to access, it felt like it was in the countryside with lots of beautiful greenery surrounding. The owners were so nice and kind and the breakfast was delicious and homemade and inexpensive. The rooms were simple but very clean and tidy. We appreciated the well stocked kitchenette.

This is about a 15 minute walk from downtown. The hosts are super nice and have adventure packages (waterfalls, hikes, hot springs) that are much more reasonably priced than what I saw elsewhere. There’s a kitchen at the property and a grocery store 5 minutes away, so you can make your own breakfast if you want!
