Great hotel monopolizing the whole bay , beautiful location maybe the best bay in the island . With some renovation it could easily be close to a 5* We enjoyed it

Ocean life

Very nice location and vibe, by the beautiful Crystal Bay beach. There is a good restaurant on the beach, as well as massage chairs, beach chairs and a few kayaks. The staff are great; the rooms are super basic, there is really just the minimum (eg no closet).

The room was big, clean and great water pressure and ample hot water. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Only negative comment is the power points are old and it can be difficult to charge phones etc. Wifi is strong. I would stay here again

Way too overcrowded

We chose a beachfront villa with our toddler. The villa was fine, bit dated but clean enough. The biggest issue was that the beach was INCREDIBLY busy, to the point we couldn’t find anywhere to sit. We had groups of boys sitting directly outside on the beach smoking weed. We ended up having to go to a different beach which was a shame. The sea was also green, probably from algae but nobody seemed to be able to give us an explanation. For the price we expected a lot more. We tired to move hotels but we not able to get a refund for our remaining nights. Service was good, especially the team by the pool/restaurant

A mixed bag

Crystal Bay Resort was an overall okay experience. The location is really great at the beach, but it is flooded with tourist from outside making some content (LOL) The resort is rather old and has a mixed bag of things to offer. The pool gave our kids rashes from the chemicals used I guess. No smell of chlorine so I guess they use some harsh stuff there. The room was big and contained what they said. The view from our room was none existing and the walk to the pool/beach was very tropical like with lots of plants. This welcomed a lot of mosquitos. Overall we were a little surprised by the very good reviews. The staff was very sweet and offered great service throughout our stay. We had an AC system break down midday, two hours later they had changed it to an entirely new AC unit, 3 people working on it. Very nice.

Love it here. Beautiful bay and beach. Breathtaking vista! Quiet. Not bad wifi. Food is wonderful. Staff lovely. There are shops close by 7’11 to get provisions and if you want to eat outside of the resort there are some great local restaurants where food is cheaper.

Great property to enjoy the beach. Don't necessarily need sea view the villas are all next to each other. Villa is also maybe a bit optimistic, it's an independent room and quite spacey but don't expect several rooms. Internet is absolutely fantastic which can be great for remote working (500mbps down and 220mbps down on 5ghz network, about half on 2.4ghz). The staff is great and they clean the room everyday. Lots of mosquitoes of course but if you're careful you don't get too bothered indoors. 7-11 nearby and some restaurant options. The one in the hotel is also fine even if a bit pricey. The beach is great and even decent snorkeling. Overall a great experience, can easily stay the whole week there or more.

Unsafe, needs refurbishing

Room was in very poor condition, especially the bathroom. I got an electric shock from the lamp and staff didn't seem bothered. The lock on the door was very flimsy (and there was no door chain for added security) so didn't feel great as a solo female traveler. Breakfast quality was poor.

My family and I arrived at this resort at 7:30am.. Jetlagged and tired from travel. The girl at the front desk was so nice.. She had the maid clean our room first and we checked in hours early. Yes, the resort has a bit of a 70-80's vibe, but it's grounds are kept perfectly clean and you're staying in the middle of a tropical jungle just steps from the beach! How can you beat that?? Some people that review this place and nitpick the small details will never be happy, because they can't afford the type of luxury they expect from a mid-range resort. The on-site restaurant had delicious food and was great value. The fire-dancers the one night put on an amazing show. This was the best resort by far on our Thai vacation. We hope to be back some day.

The beach and views from the property are beautiful. The rooms were mediocre. The bathroom door didn’t close (it was too big for the door frame) and the bed was as hard as the floor. The bed frame was squeaky and woke both of us every time there was any movement. Most disappointing was the staff at the front desk. They’re rude and dismissive. We travel extensively and have never encountered hotel staff who show such little care for their jobs in hospitality. I would not recommend staying here.

Beach Bummed

We checked into this property, and everything seemed great upon arrival. However, the air conditioning, even when turned up all the way, would not make the room cool. We did complain to the front desk, but when we returned to the room later, the same problem was still there. We also had an issue with the shower, not draining properly and creating a pool in the bathroom, lastly, the “free breakfast” did not even include fresh orange juice. We had to pay for the drinks, and the breakfast was a very limited menu, and you could only have one choice. This was very disappointing. Compared to other properties I have stayed at in Thailand. The beach was absolutely beautiful however, but I would not stay again.

Uns hat es hier sehr gut gefallen. Ja die Anlage könnte hier und da mal etwas renoviert werden aber die Anlage hatte für uns eine schöne Lage. Ruhig und schönen Strand. Die Häuschen sind in einer Gartenähnlichen Anlage, dass mir persönlich sehr gut gefallen hat. Im Restaurant kann man von einer Frühstückskarte auswählen und hat uns immer geschmeckt. Auch Abends ist es möglich zu essen. Wir würden wieder kommen!

Wohlfühlort

Crystal Bay ist sehr schön mit klarem Wasser. Die vielen Tagesgäste sind daher unvermeidlich. In unserem grossen Bungalow mit Terrasse haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Klimaanlage war auch der Hammer, da sehr sehr leise. Die ganze Anlage ist gepflegt, Frühstück super!
