Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room very old and smell bad. But the location very good.
Great location by the lakefront, nice onsen, simple and affordable breakfast. We were able to rent bikes from the hotel and biked around the lake - great experience.
Amazing location right on the front of Lake Kawaguchi. Our room had an amazing view of the lake and was walking distance to dining options, transportation, and convenience stores. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The hotel was a little older than other hotels I’ve stayed at during my stay in Japan but it was still clean. The rooms were spacious and even included a living area! Great for large groups traveling. Overall I highly recommend and most definitely will stay here again!
Amazing view of Mount Fuji from the room. Very spacious room. Green tea in the room. Comfortable beds. Great location really near the lake. Can hire bikes for 1500 yen for a day. Lovely onsen.
Location is perfect. Walking distance to everything but away from the craziness.
Staff: 10+/10 AMAZING, friendly, perfect staff. (Thank you for an amazing stay, and being so friendly and welcoming to our son)
Room size is huge compared to hotels not only In Japan, but around the world.
The reviews talk about the outdated and older rooms and amenities, but it doesn’t matter because everything is so well clean and kept.
Onsen is great, and even allow tattoos!
We will definitely be back to Kawaguchi and this hotel!

Mt Fuji visit
We came to see Mt Fuji and we did! Excellent view from our room window.
Onsen was lovely too, with lots of amenities, a foot and leg massager and very clean.
My only criticism is part of the hotel seemed dated and worn but is was very clean.
All staff were helpful, friendly and attentive.
The shuttle to the train station was a bonus

Touring Mount Fuji
We were made welcome on our arrival. The view of Mt Fuji from our room was spectacular. The room was large with separate eating and sitting area and a small kitchen. The beds were comfy. The only down points that the shower flow was rather weak and the general hotel decor was rather tired. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it and its location .
Prompt reply from staff online
Amazing view of Mt Fuji from our room, absolutely didn't expect this!

Great location just in front of Lake Ashi with nearby attractions within walkable distances. There’s onsen onsite with 1 small pool, and foot bath and bicycle rental outside of hotel. Friendly staff. Room is big but rather dated in room condition and facilities. Found hair in bathroom. Futon have to be self serviced.
Nice location, big room and friendly staff. However the property condition is very bad. old, smelly and dusty. The mattress is saggy and you can feel the spring.
The bathroom has a different smell. The tatami room was huge but the bedding and especially the pillow have stain and not enough sheet to cover them. The 2 beds were actually like a single bed so if you have a child sleeping with you it will not be enough space. The cooling AC is not strong enough to handle the big room. The breakfast is affordable for a set meal but it is just an egg, sausage, salad and a croissant with a choice of juice or coffee. The room has a nice view of Mt Fuji.
This was an excellent hotel with great accommodations. The only thing they need is better pillows. The breakfast is optional We we’re not interested in it. We didn’t see one single guest eating the breakfast. There are not coffee shops open before 9am or 10am within walking distance so it seems it might be the only option if you don’t have a car or don’t want to walk for too long to get to the great bakery that opens at 8am. I recommend you bring food with you. There is a microwave in the first floor and there is a refrigerator and a tea kettle in the room. We brought food with us and that was great. Also, the Onsen was fantastic. It is great to sit and relax in hot spring water after a long day. Great place to stay.
Arrived at almost 2pm wanting to store my luggage first, and the kind staff said the room was ready and allowed me to check in earlier. Super thankful for that!
Room was spacious and I love the tatami area. Kinda dated but it adds to the retro feel. Enjoyed the onsen with various shampoo and skincare products provided. Location is near Oike Park with beautiful lake view. The free foot bath at the entrance is a charm too!
