"Beautiful area, amazing food, the hot springs out in nature are great. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the whole experience is amazing. Worth it even if it's just one night."
"They gave me a late checkout (2 hours extension) for no additional charge. Staff tried to talk in English with me, and was very helpful. Breakfast was amazing also, and very cheap! The room is very spacious. Some things seem a bit old, and the red light in the bathroom did not work. But it was a nice stay, would probably do it again in the future!"
"The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have several staff that are able to speak some english so that was a great help because my japanese is limited. My family had a comfortable stay and had a great time at the onsen! "
"The stay here was wonderful. The staff were amazing, the dining experience was perfect. Would recommend for anyone that wants a quiet onsen off the main travel path."
"Probobly the best hotel Iโve ever stayed at. Area is incredibly beautiful as well. Make sure to have lunch at the information center next to the train station. "
"Very remote, but beautiful surrounding. Only sensible, if you want to visit the closeby temples and go hiking. But it is an excellent hotel, which exceeded my expectations by far."

The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic hotel in Kyoto with a great location. Very comfortable rooms, quiet with comfortable beds (slept great) and luxurious shower/bathroom. The buffet breakfast was good and so glad we included it. "
"My stay at Hotel Okura Kyoto was truly exceptional and exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, the staff impressed me with their warmth, professionalism, and genuine dedication to guest comfort. Every interaction felt personal and attentive, making me feel valued throughout my visit.
The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and meticulously maintained, with thoughtful amenities that made my stay both relaxing and convenient. The attention to detail in both comfort and cleanliness was outstanding. I especially appreciated the seamless blend of modern luxury with traditional Kyoto charm.
Dining at the hotelโs restaurants was another highlight. The food quality was simply superb, with dishes prepared to perfection and presented with elegance. Every meal was a delightful experience that reflected the high culinary standards the hotel is known for.
Overall, Hotel Okura Kyoto sets a gold standard in hospitality with its world-class service, excellent accommodations, and exceptional dining. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto and will certainly return on my next trip."
"Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Hotel offers free shuttle from and to hotel to train station every 20 minutes which makes it extremely convenient for public transportation. Our room has 3 beds and it is a good room size. They also offer two breakfast options: Japanese breakfast meal set of American breakfast buffet. I personally donโt think it is the best breakfast either option but if you like not to worry about looking for breakfast places, it is the way to go. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel when staying in Kyoto. "
"It was a very unique experience. They were agreeable, and when language was a barrier, even those who didn't know English, they were fluent enough to understand what you were saying and what you wanted/needed and delivered promptly. While I did attempt to use my limited Japanese, it was just that, limited. Whenever I'm in Kyoto again, I would likely come back to this Inn."
