「Staff were very friendly and helpful, comfy bed, lovely hot powerful shower! Great food and beer, really enjoyed my stay!」

「Lovely hotel in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. No breakfast, but could be arranged albeit for an extra fee, and a bit too late for walkers. Comfortable bed and bedding. TV and wifi worked well.」

「Food was exceptionally good with great choice. Staff pleasant and helpful.」

「Highly recommended. Comfortable hotel. Fine breakfast. Helpful staffs. Excellent location near the motor way. Has a shop (drink, food, etc), a cafeteria and a petrol station attached in a walking distance.

「Beautifully decorated hotel with excellent food and helpful pleasant staff.」

「This is a place that has been designed to make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated with colorful fabrics and interesting decorations. The pub is dog and human friendly and is a popular spot for locals. Jack, the Bernese Mountain dog is regularly present as he belongs to Kenny, one of the owners. 「Top Accommondation!」

「We just loved our stay here at Augill Castle. It was like being in a movie. Quirky and charming, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed wine in the sitting room, a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room was so beautiful, a very comfortable bed, and the hosts and staff were all so lovely. A very memorable stay!」

「We were walking the Pennine Way and stopped off at Bongate House after reaching Dufton and after walking/backpacking for most of the day. We had a very friendly welcome from Ann who on arrival looked after our every need. Breakfast was ample and tasty. The property suited our needs perfectly. Thank you Ann!」

「Lovely house with fab view of the Eden Valley.」

「This has to be the craziest room I've ever stayed in, in a good way. The floors were sloped the furniture was sloping in line with the floors. Bed comfy amd bathroom was nice and clean. If you are after a quirky stay then this place is for you.」
