It's a beautiful area with stunning scenery just a short drive away. The house itself has so much character with a lovely large kitchen/dining area and big lounge. The garden is beautiful too - quiet and enclosed.
We loved that you could walk to Kirkby Stephen over Frank's Bridge, which we did quite often.
All in all, we had a lovely weekend.

The Larches proved to be the ideal place for us to hold a family celebration.
The Larches proved to be the ideal place for us to hold a family celebration. Eight of us had ample space to spread out with room for more. The large modern kitchen was perfect for cooking for a group and proved to be the hub of the house to enjoy meals together. There are many good walks in the area right from the doorstep and Kirkby Stephen is easily accessible. Some window latches in the bedrooms need replacing .We would certainly consider returning and recommend to others.
The house was marvellous, spacious and charming but modern too. The kitchen area was clean, with lots of quality appliances and kitchen utensils, beds were very comfortable, the showers, bath and toilets were very clean and modern and in good working order. It's in a great location with lovely views and quick access by car or foot to nearby Kirkby Stephen. The nearby stream/beck provided hours of fun for the 8 year old with us. All in all a lovely holiday experience.
What a lovely property! Located in a pretty little village with easy access to Kirkby Stephen. Had a lovely 60th birthday weekend for my dad with family coming from Scotland and York. So a perfect meet in the middle for us all. The only blip was that I assumed that there was WiFi so only brought activities for the children that required internet access and a music system that needed WiFi. But that is honestly the only fault that we could find and in all honesty it really didn’t matter. So thank you for the use of this beautiful house and we will be back again.

A lovely position in a quiet settlement on a large plot with a beautiful garden and the gentle murmur of the stream that separates the property from the quiet lane running running through the village. The Larches is the last of a short row of properties accessible over a little stone bridge. There's good parking space to the front, though one has to take care driving across the bridge.
We were very comfortable in the spacious accommodation which was clean and pleasantly decorated.
The sitting room lighting was poor, making it difficult to read. Lack of Internet was also a drawback.
The kitchen was well provisioned but a surprising lack of food cupboard space. There were 2 spacious ovens but no baking trays.
We hope to return one day as it is a lovely place for a holiday

Had a great time! Cottage is great we had 11 of us between 3 families! Kirkby stephen is less than a mile walk & great pubs, coop etc there! Approx 1 hour from windermere! Wifi would be a added benefit! On the surface it looks clean but could do with a little tlc throughout! Would recommend & would revisit if in the area in the future

Idyllic.
Idyllic. Would love to be snowed in there. 7 of us stayed for 4 nights to celebrate a 50th birthday. Had a brilliant time. Plenty of room and the cottage is very well equipped. Loved the kitchen. 15 minute walk into the town where there are pubs and shops. Lovely location. Very quiet. Everyone we met was very friendly. Will definately stay again

Lovely well appointed cottage with plenty of space for 10 people.
Lovely well appointed cottage with plenty of space for 10 people. Kitchen was huge and had more than enough mugs, plates, dishes, cutlery pots and pans. 2 fridges, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. Beds were clean and very comfortable. The only challenge was negotiating the tiny bridge leading to the cottage. Would definitely recommend it.

We booked this accommodation for my daughters 30th and what a brilliant find.
We booked this accommodation for my daughters 30th and what a brilliant find. The house was spacious and really well equipped. We were able to walk into the town- even my 88 year old dad could manage the walk. The town is lovely with lots of nice eating places in traditional pubs.
We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a special weekend away.
