First the concierge person was so helpful and booked us a great reservation at Fishy Fishy she deserves 5 stars which I gave in the individual rankings. But the noise level in the rooms were very loud and I swear I could hear people talking next door as well as on the street. My friends room had one sheet on bed no other bedspread. She visited my room and surprised to see a Duvay on my bed when she just had a sheet.Location is wonderful so plenty of good things about location but way to much outside and inside noise coming into the room.
We arrived very late into Kinsale after official check in hours (and apparently there is no personal guest check in anyway), and were given instructions on how to check in and where to park and the staff were very responsive via the Expedia app.
However, the hotel is not well marked at all - there’s a tiny sign outside the property which looks more like an office building (white smooth exterior, modern looking windows) and it’s on a busy road with no place to pull up or double park to unload luggage.
More clear instruction on where (front of the housing? Back of the building? There are at least two separate locked entrances) would have been helpful. All parking behind the building was full so we ended up dropping our luggage behind the back building (which is not where our room was located) and then parking 400m uphill at a free lot and then wandering along the street to find the front of the building where our room #2 was located.
Once in using a code for the front door and a lockbox for our actual room key we found a lovely room with king bed and spacious bathroom and patio with two chairs that we didn’t have time to use :(
The bed and linens were great and the location is wonderful for walking around town. Just not great for driving/arriving at the hotel.
I loved Kinsale and hope to return and next time I’d stay at the Trident Hotel which is on the harbor and has an easy on and out parking situation!
We loved our stay here! Sabijn was fantastic- she upgraded our room to the coach house which was beautiful and spacious! Super comfortable bed and nice linens. The venue is very modern, charming and clean. Coffee maker and cold creamer and bottles of water in the fridge. Our room had beautiful floor to ceiling windows and a cute little patio to enjoy a glass of wine and morning coffee with periodic visits from an adorable neighborhood cat. Nice little sitting area inside as well. The location couldn’t be better- easy parking and short walk to restaurants and water front. We had a great breakfast at the Cozy Cafe just up the street. Highly recommend and hope to be back again someday!
Right in the heart of Kinsale easy walking to everything but still lovely and quiet. The room we chose was spacious -quality amenities, comfy bed, fabulous shower. I’d book here if returning to Kinsale.
beautiful little town with so many shops, very colourful buildings. The Glen Quarter was an outstanding place, very clean and comfortable. High end accommodations was with it. Free parking in back of building and everything is so close to get to. Park your car and walk everywhere. The Manager super nice and so easy to talk to, she had everything ready to go for us. Highly recommend this place.
Loved the room. Its confusing when you walk in. Looks like a normal apartment style place. Their office was upstairs, which we never saw. They had shared parking in rear for free. TV was a bit small and far away inside. The key and lock for the door needed to be up graded. Very loose and didn't work that great to just slide your key in. But it did lock strong.
Very modern and lovely room. The Innkeeper, Sibane, was terrific, Very helpful with all of our requests. Thankfully there was parking in the rear of the hotel. Somehow my credit card had fallen on the ground and some Good Samaritan put it under the back window wiper on the back window, where it remained for two days until we checked out!! We were astonished at the honesty of the person who found it and those who walked by it!
It was a clean place but some aspects were frustrating. It’s essentially a B&B , but with no breakfast. There was no clear reception area so it was rough to figure it out with wind and rain. There was no ac and the blankets they provided were enough to get through an ice storm. I was hot and uncomfortable all night long. It was clean and a great location , but definitely not worth the price. You’re better off at a real hotel
Sabine was an amazing host! We were greeted immediately, given an upgrade, and orientated nicely to room and entire area. She continued to assist us throughout our stay. Whenever we needed her, she seemed to appear. It was awesome.

Oom a bit tight in living area, but was ckean and comfortable bed.
A surprising bit of luxury in a small guest house. We stayed at the Glen Quarter for one night at the start of a coastal tour, but now I kind of wish we'd booked two nights instead. Our stay fell on a Tuesday night in the off season, so I feel like we barely sampled the charms of Kinsale and now I want to come back for a longer stand (this happens A LOT in Ireland... Charming smaller towns feel so welcoming and familiar, but are eclipsed by the glamorous bigger cities).
But back to the Glen Quarter... Where we found a patient host awaiting our arrival to get us settled in modest-sized but wonderfully appointed room on the first floor. Everything you touch, from the furnishings to the soft mattress to the thick oversized towels, has a luxurious feel, and the new, modern bathroom is gold-standard in design. It's a lovely room and we had a great night of sleep. I'm just sorry we're moving on today.
Amenities were amazing in our teeny room. Fridge, ironing board, drinking water, coffee machine with water already in it and beautiful bedding and bath. Also a small fan for white noise. I booked this on Expedia and the photo showed a spacious room at the Glen Quarter. Our room was a tiny but well appointed space with no room to open two suitcases unless on the bed. Hotel office was right outside our room door and sound travels.
I do not know if it is the property supplying only one photo to represent all of the rooms but to me this seems wrong. This has happened more than once on the same trip that my Expedia booked room was not the one shown to me in the photo. Not impressed.
This room was simply amazing. Modern, yet welcoming. We had our own private courtyard with lovely views. Communication with them was spot on and the check-in was a breeze. When we get back to Kinsale, this will again be our place to stay!
