Lovely older property with character- this means it is not modern and perfect. If you find this kind of thing charming, this is the place for you. Our room was spacious, quiet and not overheated. Jude in reception was very nice. Breakfast was top notch. Would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves in Kinsale.
Lovely old hotel with a great cafe in the lobby. Location could not be better right at the heart of Kinsale with easy access to the town. Would definitely stay there again.
Free parking is available in two town parking lots for those maneuvering the Irish roads. We had views of the harbour and the town center from our first floor room. The room was spacious, well-furnished and had one of the most comfortable beds on our trip. Bathrooms are modernized and well-equipped. Breakfast options abound in the downstairs cafe, so we only needed to eat breakfast and dinner during our stay. I only wished I had stayed longer than 2 nights to see more of the sights.
The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was excellent. While the property was once very nicely decorated, it is badly in need of some maintenance and TLC. The trim and mouldings were chipped and in need of paint. The carpets needed to be cleaned and the bathrooms need some attention - if you flushed the toilet, the sink taps wouldn’t work until the toilet had finished filling. For a four star rated property, it was not up to the standard one would expect and not worth the money.

Old bank house needs an uplift . Room furniture was old and not in good shape . Sink had a big crack . Dirt on carpet floor . But the bathroom had a lovely tub which was perfect after a hectic day . Online it says you need to check in at the Blue Haven but I went there and was told they now have a check in at the hotel itself . There is NO Parking at the hotel . We arrived on a lovely Sunday afternoon and the town was blocked with people and roads jammed .
A 2 star hotel wrapped in 4 star clothing. Shower leaked, light fixtures falling off, walls scuffed. Needs attention. They have let it fall into disrepair. Great location.
