Thackray House

Thackray House

10/10 Excellent
"This is a traditional and recently refurbished characteristic hotel with beautiful grounds and it's clear that the staff working their enjoy it. The room was a superior deluxe room that was well maintained and comfortable, nice selection of bathroom amenities and fluffy towels. The only downside was the shower is over the bath and the side of the bath is quite high so anyone with limited mobility may struggle to get in. The bar had a decent selection of drinks however they don't make cocktails, there was a bit of a wait to be served on the first night as the barman also served in Strawberry Fields Bistro which is located a minutes walk from the actual hotel, the second night the service was better. We ate in the Bistro on both nights, the food was good but it is a limited menu so quite restricted. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying their. "

Killin Hotel

Killin Hotel

8/10 Good
"The rooms were very hot, the windows were open but still didn’t help with ventilation. The heating system seemed to be on as the pipes were hot. It was very uncomfortable in the room. We eventually asked the front desk for a fan, which they gave us off the front desk. The picture of the bedroom they sent with my receipt, was definitely not the room were given. The beds were smaller. Killin is a lovely town and we enjoyed our time there, just a little disappointed with accommodation"

The Breadalbane Arms Hotel (Room Only)

10/10 Excellent
"Parking was tricky. There is a car park but it was full. Therefore I angled my car in the middle of the car park, then got up really early to move it again. The staff are lovely. The room was charming. Great value for money. Location is pretty. Great as a pit stop for driving from Inverness to Edinburgh."

"Good clean room with a bathroom with a window which I love. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a great Indian restaurant on site. Our room overlooked the end of the loch and was very quiet. Free on site car parking available and cafes and bars across the road for lunches."
