This Oceanfront home on a half acre of land in Hawaiian Paradise Park gives you the privacy and serenity you're looking for. Set just back from the cliffs it is in full view of the glorious sunrise and dramatic sapphire blue ocean year round! The landscaping, front gate and rock walls offer this home a nice degree of privacy.

The two story house has separation between the living areas and bedroom suites. Downstairs are two master suites, each with an en-suite bathroom. Both bedroom windows look out onto the ocean. Wake up and marvel at the views right from bed! The south suite bathroom has a full bathtub and shower and the north suite bedroom has a TV and the bathroom has a slate-tiled walk-in shower and two vanity sinks. There is also a laundry closet with washer and dryer close to the bedrooms for your convenience. Upstairs you will find an even more impressive view of the ocean from the covered lanai and from inside. Here is a living room, dining area and open kitchen. Also upstairs is a study, SMART TV and another bathroom with shower. The gourmet kitchen is finished with Quartz counters, stainless appliances, dishwasher and a Viking gas range, fun for cooks!.

The property is fully landscaped with beautiful bougainvillea, plumbago and colorful hibiscus flowering plants! The home is extremely well maintained. Water is provided via rain water catchment and is filtered for indoor use. 

Hawaiian Paradise Park is conveniently located about 10 miles south of Hilo and the Hilo International airport. From here you can visit Volcanoes National Park (45 min drive), Pohoiki black sand beach (50 minute drive), Hilo (15 min drive) and the gorgeous Hamakua Coast with waterfalls, botanical gardens and lush Hawaiian forests (30-90 min drives).

Kahikole is the perfect place to stay if you want peace and quiet. The view from the lanai, the living space, and the bedrooms is awesome. The drive to Hilo, Kalapana, Volcano isn’t short, but well worth it.

Amazing, amazing house! Impeccably clean, equipped, every detail well thought. Everything you need is there, for inside and outside as well (beach equipment). The view is breathtaking. The neighbourhood is also beautiful.

Unique Property - Zen Experience

Our stay at Kahikole was even better than we could have imagined. The photos don’t even do the property justice. The home is so unique, with a single entryway and vestibule that is open air and yet protected from the rain. This provided nice breezes throughout our stay. The home was very clean and well-appointed with very comfortable beds. We slept with the windows open and were lulled to sleep by the soft sounds of waves and the meditative sounds of the coqui frogs (may not be for everyone). We spent most of our days just sitting on the deck enjoying the birds and watching the occasional dolphin pod go by. The views are unobstructed and amazing, allowing for wonderful sunrises and sunsets. The water twinkled like diamonds. The grounds are well landscaped and maintained and there are lots of other places to relax and read a book. We also enjoyed making friends with the resident gecko family roaming around the house (may not be for everyone, but they are truly harmless and very cute). The internet connection was fast so we could get work done quickly. The added bonus was the fact that Salt Water Vacations accommodated our last-minute request for a late check out, which allowed us to enjoy this wonderful property up until we had to leave for the airport. 100% would recommend booking your stay here. I know we will be back.

4 days in paradise

We all absolutely loved it. The view out the back to the ocean was totally awesome. Every day we sat on the second floor back porch for the sunrise and to watch the waves crash against shore and in the evenings just to listen to it. The house itself was very very nice with great views everywhere. Everything we needed was there. We highly recommend this property. Would love to come back some day.

Beautiful Unique Property

Everything about this home was incredible. Clean, well stocked, gorgeous views, comfortable beds/linens. The only down side is that it is about 5 miles off the main road but that's what also makes it so special. Would stay here again without question.

Private location and unique property

This home is a great spot for watching the sunrise in the morning or the whales in the afternoon. One of the best equipped rental kitchens I've ever seen. Very unique home with circular layout and wonderful ocean views from almost every spot. The private ocean-front location is "first in class"-amazing! Very convenient to visit Volcanoes National Park or to drive up to Hilo (check out the Farmer's Mkt. and Ken's House of Pancakes) and the coastal areas to the north. Only negative we experienced was the electricity being out one of our three evening there (out of their control, but a real bummer nonetheless). It is a bit of a drive to grab groceries, so you may want to plan ahead so you can maximize your time enjoying the stunning views from this property once you arrive!

Return to the big island

I brought my family to Hilo (to be followed by Kona) as it had been more than 20 years since my last visit. This house was a perfect choice--solitude with a stunning lava cliff coast...sitting on the deck overlooking the gorgeous water color and turtles swimming was beyond therapeutic. In addition, the lush yard in the front/sides did feel like authentic Hilo. The layout of the home was functional and decorated well and had a perfect vibe. I enjoyed my nights sleeping with the windows open (no AC) and listening to the ocean and rain showers and frog songs. Only negative was when the blinds are open at night when the wind picks up they tend to bump back and forth on the windows. Also, it's a bit of a drive to get into Hilo town but this is definitely tolerable because we sought solitude in a gorgeous location. Rental staff was accommodating and checked in with us by text, etc. I would definitely rent this home again if given the possibility (and will secretly dream of purchasing one similar to this one someday!)

Great view

We love the uniqueness of the house. The views were outstanding. We loved walking outside on the lava cliff walls when we got there. The only thing we didn’t like was a bit of drive to everywhere you had to go. But we were prepared to travel. It was a nice launching point for a lot of the things we wanted to do on the Hilo side.

Beyond Expectations

The pictures do not do justice for how wonderful the house and the views are. You are right on top of the ocean and can watch sea turtles from the balcony. We can’t recommend the Maku’u Farmers market enough and really enjoyed Kaleo’s down the street. Overall wonderful stay!

We had an amazing experience at this property! The unique and functional layout, with living space upstairs and bedrooms downstairs in an incredibly peaceful location, was absolutely perfect for two couples. The secured driveway with parking and above-average amenities were impressive additions. The unforgettable views of marine life from the lanai truly enhanced the overall charm of the place. Beautiful home, outrageously gorgeous view.

Do I really need to say more? The views are stunning. The house is amazing and the area surreal. Loved the proximity to all the gorgeous sites in all directions. Coffee on the porch in the morning was amazing! Truly a tropical paradise with birds constantly singing, rain touching the sky daily and you in the middle to see it all. Thanks for the vacation of a life time.

Slice of paradise

While already familiar with the area, we were astonished at the absolute beauty of this property. At least as good as advertised. We stayed 14 days and if boredome ever began, a few minutes being mesmorized by the view fixed that. Dont miss Pele's kitchen for breakfast. We will plan to return. Suggest a roll down shade or 2 for the deck and some pull down shades (like bedrooms) for the living area.

This property was amazing!

This property had so much personality and the views were stunning. We spent hours on the back deck relaxing and enjoying the view. The house is set up nicely and It was really well stocked so we didn’t have to spend extra money on some kitchen essentials. The heat in Hawaii definitely takes getting used to but there were plenty of fans provided to help alleviate that. The host was very responsive when I had questions. My only criticism would be the pillows were terrible and the beds could benefit from memory foam toppers to make more comfortable. I would highly recommend this rental if you love watching the ocean…we even saw dolphins 2 mornings in a row. If we return to Hilo this will be the house I would want every time.
