Ophelia's was a fantastic place! A comfortable and unique B & B that we found was mere blocks from the place & purpose of our visit to Independence. The room was very nicely decorated and had the usual TV, free internet & coffee as well as refrigerated beverages ($$) and fine liquors ($$). One big plus is that you can also purchase the Turkish cotton bathrobes that are provided to the guests (my wife liked them). There is elevator service to the rooms, which set directly above the restaurant. The restaurant itself is what I call fine dining. Our food was well prepared and excellent with a friendly and attentive staff. There was even some quiet instrumental music provided by a single guitarist on Saturday evening! There are plenty of shops to visit as you walk around the Square after supper. All-in-all, a great find, a pleasant stay and certainly a place to go back to!

We stayed at the Inn at Ophelia's for two nights. Booking the room was easy through Expedia. When we arrived we had to go to the host stand in the restaurant to get room access. The manager met with us, provided us our keys, and took us to the room and explained amenities. Once checked in, you are issued a fob that allows access to a side door into the restaurant and next to the stairs to go to the inn. This was convenient as we did not have to walk past diners as we came and went. Free parking is easily available on the street or a parking lot a half block away. We had a large king corner room that had a separate sitting area. The room was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. It was summer and the room was cooled sufficiently by the AC. There was a minibar available in the room that we did not use. The bathroom amenities were nice. The room was quiet and the area of Ophelia's does not have much traffic overnight allowing for good sleep. I would highly recommend the Inn at Ophelia's!

Ophelia's was a lovely place to meet up with an old friend. We enjoyed the kind and welcoming staff, who function both as hosts in the restaurant AND front desk/concierge for the Inn. Free street parking nearby was also a plus. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The bar cart was especially pretty and fun and added to the unique atmosphere. I felt fancy the whole time I was there. Food in the restaurant was delicious too.

Overall, disappointed with our stay. Definitely not worth what we paid for. There is not a front desk person so its hard to ask any questions or get any issues resolved unless the restaurant is open (we called the manager phone number that we found in the community room and they didn't answer). Also, the email listed on their website does not work. We were not provided any information about Wi Fi access or check out times when we checked in and that information was no where in our room. We had conflicting check out times on our reservation confirmation email and with no one to ask, we decided to wake up early to make sure we didn't incur a late check out fee. We didn't have the chance to dine at Ophelias but there are a few cafes and restaurants withing walking distance. Depending on the purpose of your trip, this may or may not be the right place for you. There's potential with this place but I would not recommend at this time especially for the price (must mention we visited during the World Cup).

Such a refreshing change from the normal chain hotels. The staff were wonderful and rooms were very comfortable. Not to mention the restaurant downstairs is probably the best in Independence. The location on the square makes it very convenient for a relaxing stroll in the morning or to visit any of the numerous shops or restraurants. We will make a point to stay here anytime we are in the area.

Perfect Boutique Hotel

This place is adorable! The rooms are above a wonderful, high-end lical restaurant. Each is unique. The check in was personal and welcoming. We walked around the square for drinks and dinner and ended with a cocktail in the hotel bar.

The staff at Ophelia's went above and beyond for us. I was in town for a wedding and they helped us check-in and accommodated our last-min change to have our dog stay. The room is spacious and really nice. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. We will certainly be staying there again.
