Double doors lead into the foyer, where you’re greeted by vaulted ceilings and a grand staircase that flows directly into the great room. The fully renovated kitchen, with its top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and large island, is a chef’s dream. Whip up your family’s favorite meal on the gas cooktop while gazing out at the endless Pacific Ocean. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a spacious laundry room with dual washers/dryers, which could also serve as additional pantry space should you need it. Beyond the large dining table, the bright living room has lots of space to gather. The two larger sofas not only provide a comfortable spot from which to enjoy the view or to curl up with a book plucked from the built-in bookshelves, but they also transform into sleeper sofas to accommodate additional guests. The bright blue of the ocean is put on full display through the windows and a sliding glass door that leads out to the wrap-around lanai and the backyard beyond. There is space in front of the home to park up to four vehicles, so rent a car and explore the Big Island! Visit world-class beaches like Makalawena or Hapuna, both in the Kailua-Kona region. Or if driving is not your thing, you can walk 5 minutes to a sand beach, Honl’s Beach. If you’re up for a day trip, make the drive to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where Kilauea has been actively erupting since 1983 and isn’t expected to stop anytime soon. You can get a glimpse of this incredible natural phenomenon by booking a tour via boat or helicopter, or if you prefer to stay on land, you can hike over the rugged terrain toward the lava flow.
